This place is the best. It's a quick vacation to the beach with drinks on a budget. The atmosphere is very quirky and fun and it feels like your in a bar in the Florida keys, only it's good old Lake Erie right outside the windows. They have a huge patio and you can catch some pretty gorgeous sunsets as you sip your mojitos. The band tonight was a Beatles band, but other nights we caught some really great bands playing as well. As far as food goes, I think they have a pretty diverse selection for a bar and the food is fresh and delicious. We had chicken planks and I was surprised how big the chicken was and how many were In the basket. They were really good. Found this place by sheer luck and glad we did. It was their last day open for the season. We relaxed in the Adirondack chairs for a couple hours enjoying wine that from Larello, a local winery that was one of the best Pinot Grigios I have had locally. They were giving everyone their first 2 drinks free because it was their last day so we got $12 off our bottle of wine. SO nice! The waiter was so sweet, the sound of the waves & live music behind us made this day one of the most memorable surprises. A sweet old dog roams around & there is even a little beach area below the outdoor seating for people to roam around, maybe get your feet wet & watch boats go by. The food was excellent, can't wait to have the taco rolls next year. They were something I had never had before & glad I did. Great view of Lake Erie. Very close to the lake and can easily walk to the shore from their patio. Lake Erie perch is usually available here. The lake perch is not as readily available as in the past. I always enjoy it when I can find it. It's a staple here. read more

First time here. The older woman bar tending was extremely rude to me because I didn't have a mask on. Went home and got a mask. Came back then her husband was extremely shitty with me and yelled at me for not having a shirt on which was my fault but he could have asked in a million other ways instead of standing in front of me while I was walking and confronted me. It was very uncomfortable and I honestly would NEVER come back to this bar. They showed absolutely NO hospitality what so ever. So disappointed because the atmosphere has a potential. Very rude people at this establishment. I called ahead to make sure we could eat in and we were told to come, and the entire inside of the restaurant was open. The woman on the phone said outside usually requires reservation because it fills up quickly , but inside was completely available. Upon entering we noticed signs saying mask required **unless seated. Obviously we expected to be seated the duration of our meal. We also have eaten out several times in the past month and never required to wear a mask while eating at a restaurant. Immediately a woman behind the bar (whose mask was around her chin, uncovering her face) demanded we leave since we didn't have our faces covered. We asked if we could eat outside or one of the many tables indoors which had no patrons in site. She told us this restaurant didn't except walk ins, reservation only. When I explained we called just 20 mins ago and were told to come she became even more rude. She offered us a seat only if we purchased masks from her and wore them the duration of the meal. She also informed us we would be required to wear them even outside. Ridiculous. Mind you other outdoor patrons were unmasked. We left and went to Taco Bell, which was an upgrade. read more

We came across this place while riding around. We had our dog. not knowing they were pet friendly we stayed outside. The wind kicked up and it got cool and started to rain. Our waitress told us we could go inside, so we did and had a great time and good food. We will definitely be back. read more

Great summer place with a patio right on Lake Erie. Live bands every weekend! I was in the mood for fish tacos, and theirs do not disappoint! Very yummy! Also had the calamari and it was good too. Have you ever found a place where you love the location and atmosphere but disappoints you time and time again? Well this is the place folks. Waterfront -beautiful. Music venue- awesome. Food- delicious if you get what you order. I ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffles that is normally the best I've had. However, this visit I received a plate of kids chicken fingers instead. No warning and the server didn't know they were out of the fried chicken. No offer for a replacement either. The management and service is very disorganized and down right horrible! Trust me when I say my husband and I have decades of restaurant experience at all levels and hate to complain or blame a server for the back of the houses errors. Yet this is the third time we have visited in a row where there has been issues with timely service, not getting drinks or the right food. We would have liked to have had a conversation with the manager but she was too busy drinking and having a party of her own. So here we are on Yelp instead. Such a real shame because this place could be amazing if it was run the right way. read more

It was our first and probably last time there - we heard it was a great place to see the sunset but unless you make a reservation don't expect to be outside or get service. We've been here twice now, and both times exceeded our expectations with our food and service! We were a party of 4 on a busy Friday night. We chose the patio and we're glad we did, as they had a solo musician on the patio! For an appetizer we had the calamari. It was fresh and had a very light breading on it that was very good. For our entrees two of us chose the perch tacos (not to be missed!) and the other two the perch sandwich. All were excellent and nice size portions. We found this place on Yelp, and went because of the good food reviews, and promise of a great sunset view. We used the Yelp reservation system, which offered a 7:45 P.M. reservation. The three of us arrived ten minutes early, but were unsure of what to do. There were no signs at the door or on the patio directing patrons to seat themselves, or wait to be seated, and there were no employees around to ask. There were a few tables open on the patio, as well as several inside the bar area. I had my wife and daughter sit at one of the bar area tables while I went to the bar to try and figure out what we were supposed to do, and grab a drink while we were waiting. There is a small horseshoe shaped bar with probably about 20 seats, half occupied. There were five employees behind the bar, as well as a waitress grabbing drinks for tables. A guy sitting next to me had no drink in front of him, and about ten minutes later, was served two drinks, being asked if his food was delivered to his table. He replied he did not know, because he'd been inside most of the evening waiting on his drinks. During that ten minutes, no one behind the bar even made eye contact with me. There seemed to be much confusion about what tables' drinks were ready, with a woman who appeared to be an owner seemingly getting in the rest of the bartenders' way. Five to ten minutes later, after two people who arrived after me were served drinks, one of the girls finally asked me what I would like. I explained that I made reservations on Yelp, and she seemed genuinely confused, but friendly and willing to help me. They explained that the kitchen closed at 8 (by this time it was about 7:55) but that they would take care of us. She led us out and told us we could pick a table, gave us a stand with a number on it and some menus. It was a nice area with a band playing, and seemed like it would have been a nice setting to enjoy a meal and see the sun set....that is, if anyone would have ever came back out to take even a drink order. We heard some conversation from the table next to us, who seemed displeased with the service. After a brief conversation they stated it was taking forever for everything, and soon thereafter they finally received their food, after a ninety minute wait. After hearing that, and having been at the table with not even a drink order being taken for 20 minutes, we decided it was time to go. I could understand being busy, but they weren't, probably 50 patrons overall. There seemed to just be a complete breakdown in any type of organization in this establishment. There is no excuse for a bar to have six or seven front of the house employees and not be able to put a drink in someone's hand after 40 minutes. It could have been an off night, but from the conversation we had with the neighbors, who seemed to know the owner, I don't think we will be back. read more

It didn't start well, and went downhill from there. We were in GOTL for a girls weekend and wanted to eat by the lake and hear some live music. We entered the bar, saw a waiter running past us toward the outside patio but nobody else was inside to direct us as to where to sit so we wandered outside to the patio area. We sat at a table and were repeatedly ignored until we snagged a waitress as she flew past us for no less than the 4th time. Ordered drinks that took forever to come, asked for menus and waited 30 minutes to have our order taken. During this whole mess we have locals rudely yelling out things at the man playing live music on the patio. They only wanted country music and when he would announce a song he was going to play, they would yell "we want country". They also had their dog on the patio, which would have been fine since it is an outside venue but when they allow the leash to extend far enough for the dog to clamp it's teeth into the lettuce on the edge of my plate, I have a problem. The food is all bar food, totally expected and fine by bar food standards but this place is not very well run, the waiter and waitress were absent and scattered when they were there. This place has a crowd of regulars that set the tone and we did not like the service nor the atmosphere. Find a friendlier place to eat when in GOTL, you won't miss out if you steer clear of this place. read more

Really good food, sadly this establishment is severely understaffed. I ordered the Point Quesadilla with Onion Rings. It was extremely good-props to the chef. But the amount of people there were too much for the staff to handle. Overall I would recommend you hire more waitresses and bussers read more
