After taking X-rays my son was told he doesn't need a root canal. My son had gone to another dentist and told him that he needed one and was going to charge him a lot of money for something he doesn't need. I would recommend Stephen Boatright.

Most of which I was able to go right back to work or daily routine. This was so bad I was sick, dizzy, in tremendous pain and had to leave my vehicle and have my husband come pick me up. The procedure was more painful than the pain I had going in. The pain after was also worse than the original pain. Not only was the procedure horrible and painful the dentist (if you can call him that) was in no way in control of the situation. He became frustrated with the fact that I can't take pain meds because they make me sick. When my husband asked about prescribing Zofran to help with nausea and vomiting he had no idea what that was and had to ask his assistant if he could prescribe it and told her to go look it up. He kept saying the worse you hurt before you come in the worse you will hurt when you leave. I went there for relief and ended up with nothing short of misery. All that being said I want to be clear that I don't leave reviews because I don't want my opinion to sway someones decision but please beware of this place. It's a bad place.

However, once I stated that a previous dentist diagnosed me with an oral condition that's common amongst African-American women (periapical cemento-osseous dysplasia), He referred to me as "the Blacks". I could not believe my ears, and I know the dental hygienist also heard him say it. As the visit ended, he asked me if I had "any questions or dumb looks"? Once again, I could not believe what he said! I did not confront Dr. Cooner about anything he said. Instead, I spoke to two women who worked in the business office. They mentioned that "usually he's pretty good" and I was given a dental whitening kit for my troubles. After pondering the situation, I still felt uncomfortable. Consequently, I decided to take my business elsewhere and requested my dental records. As I was reading my dental document, I saw that the "professional", Dr. Cooner, insulted me again by calling me names. Attached is what he wrote in my dental record. Perhaps he was having a bad day. Nevertheless, due to his gross immorality and disrespectful nature, Dr. Leslie Cooner needs to take a course on cultural competence and social etiquette.

If you are looking for a good, caring dental practice, this is NOT the one for you…read more I have been a patient of Chad Matone's for a couple of years. I was scheduled for a crown a couple of weeks ago. I went in and as the dental assistant was preparing to do my impression, she put entirely too much of the "goop" on the apparatus. I noticed it was a lot and thought it would be ok, but I was wrong. There was so much it started going down my throat (also got in my hair) and made me gag and cough for a full 10 minutes, trying to get the stuff out of my throat. I coughed up the blue stuff for about 2 hours after I left the office. Needless to say, after the traumatic impression try, I told them I wanted to reschedule. They pretended to be concerned and I left with the office manager apologizing and saying she would call me to reschedule. Imagine my surprise when I don't receive a call from the dentist, or office staff to reschedule. The office manager was nice enough to send me a letter via USPS offering me their services for 30 more days, but thankfully I have found a good Christian dentist at another practice I will be seeing from now on.

We worked out to have it removed a week from that visit. They gave me the needed antibiotics to keep any infection down for the week, which helped with the pain surprisingly quickly. On the day of the apointment, I arrived 39 minutes early and only had to wait 5 minutes to be called back! The Dentist and Assistant were very informative on everything that was going to happen, including my wife by keeping her informed as well, as she accompanied me just an earshot outside the procedure room . The tooth came out without a hitch and I felt COMPLETELY CONFIDENT in the staff in every step of the process. From the time I first called to set up the appointment to the time I left after the procedure, everyone was completely professional, pleasant to talk to, as well as extremely caring. Everything went very smoothly, quickly and painlessly. I would HIGHLY recommend this Dentist's practice to anyone in need of a dentist in the Hot Springs area, or anywhere else for that matter--they're worth it.
