But I am a baker, so I would rather make something on my own then buy it for slightly more than most bakeries would charge. Still, I find myself stopping in occasionally, because the breads truly are delicious. The boyfriend and I love getting a quarter loaf of the house bread (3€) an having that for weekend breakfasts or to accompany homemade soup. I've also got to hand it to them, because there are a handful of vegan muffins and cakes available, and even vegan bagel sandwiches with fake meats and tasty spreads. As mentioned before, the prices are a bit higher, but for a snack on-the-go, they aren't bad. All in all, I would recommend this place. If you are looking for a bakery that makes things fresh instead of heating up pre-made, delivered, frozen goods, any one of the Beumer & Lutum locations in the city (3 in Kreuzberg, 1 in Prenzlauer Berg) will hook you up.

I didn't know what to expect, but the employees were very courteous and patient as they put up with my broken German. I had "Baarenhunger" so I opted for some coffee, a "puddingpretzel," pastry and a 3-egg omelet. The prices were very reasonable (dare I say cheap?) and the quality of the food was fantastic. I'm leaving the neighborhood soon, but I would definitely stop in for brunch again!

Passing by, you're greeted by a line of locals waiting to order fresh bread and pastries and the scent of sugar and yeast fills the street. The staff were able to communicate efficiently with me as an English speaker, and were kind as they packed my large order while giving recommendations to fit my preferences. I ordered a cherry donut, a classic eclair, cream bun, quiche with ham, and a chocolate rum ball all for a mere nine euros. As you can tell, I had a major sweet tooth, but they had a phenomenal selection of savory options such as croissants, dinner rolls, brioche, baguettes and loaves packed onto the shelves. Each of my treats were extraordinarily delicious! The fluffy donut and tart, homemade jam were surreal...the chocolate ball was creamy and milk chocolatey followed by a warm, rum aftertaste and I enjoyed the bite of the chocolate sprinkles! The highlight for me was certainly the large cream bun! Sandwiches between two delicate pate choux "buns" was a mountain of fresh whipped cream that was soft and only slightly sweet. I am dreaming about it now! The bakery has a cozy dining area and a patio for you to enjoy your purchase. Cannot wait to come back here again. Please come support this place!
