Yum!!! OMG. I was a little nervous to try this place. Hole in wall spots are my fave but the last hole in the wall Chinese place I had made me sick. This place is AMAZING. Being new to the east end of Escondido, the hubs and I were feeling like some Chinese for dinner. Having been sorely disappointed with the first place we tried a month ago, we hoped for the best. It was not to be. The noodles were bland, with nary a hint of soy flavor. Orange chicken and BBQ pork were likewise blah, in addition to both being tough and in the case of the pork, gristley. Maybe we've gotten used to the vibrant flavors of that chain, Panda something or other, but I wish we'd just have gone there tonight. They're predictable, but so much tastier. read more

Chinese is my favorite food. With that said, Dragon Express is my new go to place. They have great food, pricing is reasonable, and the customer service is outstanding. My favorite dish is the Coconut shrimp. They are clean and reliable. Also, their catering is fantastic. I've had them cater several of our communities events and always get rave reviews on the food. read more

This place is better than Nice Food! I actually really like the cheesy lights outside on the window, hope they ever take them down! Idk how new this place is but we checked it out randomly one night not knowing what to expect and it wasn't the besssst but it didn't disappoint! The prices are so much better than other local spots! Ok guys, today I tried Dragon express for my first time. I was there when it opened. I was their first customer. Well I ordered coconut shrimp, beef and broccoli and noodles and rice. And the lady that was there, threw in a couple egg rolls. I also ordered egg drop soup. Well I thought the food was delicious. Nice food restaurant used to be my favorite chinese restaurant, but now im switching to Dragon express!! I forgot to mention something! The lady even helped me take my food to my car. I think they got a new cook. Food is good now and their portions and price are great. My wife bought me takeout 6 months ago and I wasn't impressed, kind of bland. I have been to Dragon Express several times now. First, this is one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever been in, Including the restrooms, The food choices were varied and all well prepared. I like the Coconut Shrimp. This was a interesting twist on how it was prepared. The Jalapeno Chicken and the BBQ Pork were also good. My husband and I decided to try this after seeing the coupon and one of the local mailers. There's a good selection of food and it is very clean and prices are great. They offered me the by 3 combo get one free without the coupon. The broccoli beef was very good in the beef was tender and fresh the coconut shrimp is to die for. The orange chicken was very good and didn't have too much orange zest or was not coated or overcooked. The vegetables were fresh and cooked well. The pineapple chicken is okay just depending on your taste. We spent about $20 in walked out of there with a ton of food. My only suggestion and reason for only giving 4 stars is that the NOODLES and the RICE were not worth eating! flavorless, just pass on them.
