Detailed review:
About a month ago, I felt a familiar pain deep in my lower right molar, reminiscent of needing a root canal. Dr. Solis had helped us with our dental needs previously with cleanings, whitenings and a filling. This, however, was a whole different animal and I was a bit hesitant. But, not knowing any other dentist any better, I felt my best chances were with her and, to my everlasting gratitude, I wasn't wrong. She x-rayed my molars and right away showed me the infection surrounding the root of my tooth causing the pain, as well as a second molar in need of a root canal and asked if I wanted to go forward with treatment. I replied in the affirmative and scheduled the first root canal, since it would take at least two visits (one for each tooth) because of the time and pain involved. Dr. Solis works in conjunction with a root canal specialist, another doctor whose name I do not know. The next appointment at her office was with this gentleman, who proceeded to dig away at my problem expeditiously. A little over an hour later, another x-ray showed a completely clean root system in that molar. Roughly a week later, treating the second molar yielded identical 'clean root' results. In total, I believe there were six visits: the initial consultation and x-ray, the first root canal, another visit to remove excess gum tissue which would inhibit crown placement (Dr. Solis performed this procedure), the second root canal and crown placement. This so far enumerates five visits. However, it must be noted that Dr. Solis is a perfectionist and saw that one of the crowns came back from the lab just a bit 'high' and recommended that we send it back to the lab for correection. I agreed and she took another impression of my teeth to send to the lab along with the second request. As of this writing, I am the proud owner of two perfectly fitting caps replacing the two I had placed five years earlier by a hack of an American dentist who should have done his job properly and saved me two root canals. In closing, I plan to request Dr. Solis' talents for all my future dental needs in Merida and recommend her highly. read more
