I came here for a mammogram and a bone density test. I checked in and in no time I was called to go in. The technician was very knowledgeable, kind, and gentle. I finished with the first test they had me go for the second! I highly recommend Manatee Diagnostic Center and will happily go back for yearly screenings. The place is so clean and bright and the staff is outstanding. Going to a new place is a bit uncomfortable but they put me at ease and earned my trust with their expertise. 5 stars! 11/30/21

But they called and rescheduled me, so no major issues but that could be improved. Amaya was super friendly and helpful. It I'm sick I'll definitely come back to check out their PAs/Drs care. AFC then found my Aetna coverage and told me that Aetna was my SECONDARY insurance--but said their system required them to use the secondary insurance instead. The result? A $100 copay instead of $25. I questioned this several times. I asked why I couldn't use my primary BCBS coverage. Same answer: their system wouldn't allow it. I even asked them to remove Aetna so they could process my BCBS, and I was told they couldn't because doing so would be "fraud." Here's the problem: that's backwards. Coordination of Benefits generally requires the primary insurance to be billed first, followed by the secondary insurance. Aetna's own provider guidance says exactly that: bill the primary insurer first, review the primary EOB, then bill the secondary insurer. I understand computer systems have limitations. What I don't accept is being told I must pay $100 instead of my $25 primary-insurance copay because their system insists on using my SECONDARY insurance, and then having the word "fraud" thrown into the conversation when I question it. Patients with multiple insurance plans: check exactly which insurance AFC is billing before you pay. Needles today I left to another urgent care where my insurance was billed correctly. I will never step foot at AFC Urgent Care again.

I was impressed with the quick response and feedback! The Imaging staff was so pleasant and understanding of my needs. We discussed the options available to avoid the delay in reading the X-rays for next time. I have been using the BayCare Health Hub in Valrico for a number of years. I moved to Lake Wales several years ago but even though my drive is almost 2 hours, I will continue to go there. The staff is pleasant and efficient and the facility is clean. I have had to call Baycare Imaging in Valrico on 2 separate occasions to request the results of my X-rays. I went to Imaging in enough time to have the results back before my scheduled PCP appointment! These were not complicated X-rays. This happening again is unacceptable. I go to Baycare Heath Hub in Valrico because I trust this business but that trust is quickly fading. Also I called prior to closing hours and the message was they were unable to take my call!

The lady told me I was early and that if I had to use the bathroom, they would have to reschedule me. My scan time was 2. So I was determined to make it work. I have stage 4 kidney failure and am told not to hold my bladder (as if i can). At 2:15 my husband asked when I would be seen, they said 5 minutes. 2 Bottles of water one after another is a lot. At 2:45 I could not wait any longer. Their excuse was the tech had to take an emergency patient. ?? No, they were taking multiple walkins the whole time I was there. And really, I believe it was someone they knew that they took back. They could not care less if they saw me on time or if I was suffering and trying to hold it or that I had been there on time since before 1:00 and had been sitting there waiting in pain. Some of them are a little on the rude side, very uncaring, and definitely not maintaining the schedule. For a test with these requirements to have a full bladder, how can they be so horribly uncaring. Just be on time! It is hard enough even if they would have been on time. 45 minutes past my appointment time and they were again saying in 5 minutes. They acted like it was nothing. If I was 5 minutes late, they would not have taken me. However, I was on time. Based on how I was treated I would not trust them to do a good job with the scan either. The sign in sheet at the desk is blocked by whoever they are talking to. If there's a problem when you check in, they let you sit there for 30 minutes before they tell you. During my last visit, I watched 3 other people have a problem before they told me there was a problem with my visit, again. They cancel appointments because staff doesn't show up for work but they wait until you arrive to tell you. Apparently no one knows how to make a phone call. A text or email isn't good enough. My last 3 appointments have all had problems. You are just a number, not a person. Is this what healthcare is now?
