Maybe one of kookier names for a dessert wine I've encountered. Never heard of it until recently, then suddenly I've seen it at 3 different restaurants. Maybe there is a Loosen cult following? If you look at he website Ernst Loosen looks a little creepy but man, does he make a good wine. Very good examples of the Mosel and terrific Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese, and Auslese Rieslings. Don't let the odd name deter you, it's quite tasty. read more

The good Doctor must have struck up a distribution deal in the US as I am now able to find his products in a few restaurants and wine stores in Florida and Georgia. It's always a pleasant surprise to find a Loosen on a wine list. One of my favorite everyday drinkers at a good price. I love the Mosel Rieslings! read more
