When I went here Dr. K, a small Indian woman talked me into getting root canals. I didn't realize until afterwards how unnecessary and poorly done they were. She also billed my insurance for procedures she didn't do! Like a 4-surface Amalgam silver filling and core buildups. She didn't even do the root canals right so I suffered for nothing and my insurance benefits are used up. this place is the worst! they charged masshealth for partials that they messed up on 4 times they sent them back cause they wouldn't fit right and the doctor tried to use her tool too saw them down, I said send them back and walked out and went somewhere else and come to find out they still billed masshealth for them and I'm stuck having to wait 4 more years, I can't afford to pay out of pocket to fix my back teeth, I tried taking them to court but supposedly they didn't have the camera footage of me not walking out with them, they probably threw them away smh! no wonder they have a 1.4 rating...they robbed me of my beauty read more

when your suppose to be using the chin .. then when I tell him to stop he looks at me smiles and goes "oh sorry" then continues to do it three more times. At one point I realized there was no plastic on the instruments/utensils idk what they're called but I pointed it out and the assistant continued to shove it in my mouth so I couldn't say anything else , rude and sketchy orrrr? I had to stop the entire procedure. that doesn't cover the horrific job they did on my tooth, so I had a small chip and these people thought it was enough to shave it all the way down and put a crown on it , when I was really clear all I wanted was a filling .. *crying at this point*!!!! it was a horrendous day. read more

My Teeth were perfect I just had a couple cold sensitivity issues in 2 teeth (MINOR). The woman there (European accent - Brown Hair) hit me with heavy amounts of Novocain and started Drilling away and I thought she was just taking her time. After about 25 minutes of the she told me to rinse and spit and I ran my tongue on the back of my teeth top and bottom all the way around and it was like a Cave System!!!!! There was nothing left of about 12 teeth and I mean nothing. What she actually did was Hollowed out my teeth and the roots doing UN-Needed-wanted or Authorized Root Canals. I never went Back!!...After a year the teeth began to break apart but it didn't hurt and finally after 6 years 10 of 12 teeth are Snapped off at or below the Gumb line and the other 2 are broken and about to snap off. Now I need Oral Surgery to extract what is left of the roots with the fillings that are in the roots and the rest of my teeth extracted and have to get dentures. She made me terrified of Dentists and my health has failed because I can't eat because I can't chew anything. Was made me really mad is I couldn't find an Attorney to File Suit on my behalf although I have every single shred of proof and evidence for a solid case. Rivers Edge Dental and Dr. Dental are the Same Company. They also got busted for fraud and Double Billing the Commonwealth of Mass on dental bills from what I have read in the Newspaper in the last few years too. Total Scumbags!!! read more

Although I miss the old dentist who used to work here (he moved to another location) the current one isn't that bad. I honestly quite enjoyed my experiences the last two times I went. Although the girl on the phone was rude and called my grandmothers number to confirm my appointment ( which she stated I would call back at a later time) since we were at an emergency vet visit at the time, which she isn't supposed to she's supposed to call mine, we wanted to reschedule my appointment for earlier so my grandmother stated that I would like to reschedule my appointment and she took it upon herself to assume that that meant that I couldn't make it that day and she gave my appointment to someone else without my say so. And she was very rude on the phone and even hung up on me when I still had stuff to say. The dentist did a good job on my fillings and the ladies at the front desk are nice. However there were some system malfunctions so the dentist almost gave me fillings on the wrong side luckily I spoke up about it because I was told I had the cavities on my right side and not my left. Oh getting needles in my mouth for the second time was so uncomfortable but he did a nice hob and he even made a joke my first visit which made me smile so at least he's a. Nice guy. It can sometimes be hard to understand him with his thick accent and his mask but he does his job to what I think is an amount of effort I can trust to rely on. The assistants were very nice and helpful. And answered all my questions. I definitely like this place better than the one up by the social security office... that experience was horrific. That needle aaahh was so long but he did good and was patient with me if I needed a quick break to cough or spit or what ever else. Your mouth definitely gets bone dry with that air thing in their trust me brush and floss the taste and smell of tooth dust does not taste or smell good. Nor does the pain and soreness from the needle in the muscle or the stiffness from it in your jaw muscle / from the sensitivity of the teeth after getting fillings . The poor girl at the front desk I was sitting waiting and I was nervous, I have a cough I do when I'm nervous sort of like a nervous tick and the poor girl at the front desk had to ask me if I was sick or something I was coughing so much I explained it to her and I actually don't think she'd ever heard of it before because she seemed quite surprised. It tends to be quite annoying but I can't really help it when I'm stressed. That made me more nervous since the people in there probably thought I was sick after being on the dentists chair still for so long when I got up I had the shakes hahahahaha and I couldn't feel half my face which was both wonderful but at the same time a bi annoying trying not to bite my tongue haha. It took about six or so hours for the novocaine to wear off for reference. I massaged my face I drank water all that and it still took that long after the procedure which only took about 15-20 minutes at least I know he gave me enough to not wear off to soon! I will say some of the equipment looks like they've had it for awhile I'd say they should get a grant for an upgrade. Of course if they have a good enough history with their services. I will also state a lot of the staff are different from 1-4 years ago so if you had a bad/ good experience prior or after this time you should probably update your review or write a new one read more

where should I start ... first they would suggest deep cleaning all the time . which for me and according to other qualified dentist was no needed . in one occasion like 4 years ago they insisted that i needed a deep cleaning in only one quadrant . they said that they would call my insurance to see if they would cover them they would say oh no they won't cover . weeks later I called the insurance and they assured me that they never receive a claim or a call from DR dental so I had to pay the entire cost . before that I had a crown made in my last molar . ( around 2019) with them unfortunately. and when I started visiting my new dentist she told me that the crown was not made correctly and another dentist said the same thing . yesterday the crown came off . now I have to pay more money after I paid those phonies 1,000 thank God my Root canal was done in another office not related to this phonies . please don't go there they don't know what they are doing . you will pay the price . there are a lot of horror stores from many people in Haverhill . read more

Awful experience's here. They screw up appointments. Change their diagnosis so they can bill you for extra appointments. Overbook patients and keep you waiting unbelievable long. This place is awful and I would not recommend Dr. Dental to anyone. I was only a patient twice but that was enough for me and will be cancelling my next appointment. After checking in I would wait in the crowded waiting room for over an hour both times. Then I would wait to be seen by the dentist for another 10-15 minutes. I am very unhappy with the work the dentist did on my teeth. I had cavities and needed fillings but I do not feel as though they were done right. One filling broke the next day and I've been in constant pain in the week after having them done. I've had fillings in the past and have never felt pain from them afterwards. Started going here about 18 months ago- at first, it seemed like a good fit. My dentist was great and still have no problems with her. However, on subsequent visits it seemed like they had done some downsizing- the very nice gentleman who used to be at the front desk was gone and the woman they had there was borderline rude as well as incompetent. She was unable to get a claim approved by my insurance for a very time sensitive issue. I They also seemed to be overbooking- the last few times I went, I waited over half an hour to be seen. The woman at the desk seemed irritated whenever I brought up the procedure that supposedly she was resubmitting for. I'm very happy with my care plan thus far at Dr Dental. I have a ton of fear about going to the dentist and I feel that I'm being listened to and respected. The techs and dental assistants and Dr all listen and communicate with me as a human and a patient not just another patient. I have noticed some of the equipment is kind of dirty. The lights they pull down to look in your mouth look grimey and could use a real deep clean and the walls look like they haven't ever been cleaned but none of that will keep me from going back. read more

Not good for kids. They bill themselves as kid friendly, but there was nothing in particular that seemed kid friendly at all. Nothing for them to do in the waiting room, nothing particularly special at the end of the appointment. Any regular, adult dentist I've been to is better for kids. Dr. Jim Meletlidis was my dentist as well as my daughter's. A little over a year ago, he began filling cavities for me. It seemed to quite a few but I trusted him. His injections left me appearing to have bells palsy. He was fast, maybe too fast. Made me nervous. As he was working on a tooth in the top left side of my mouth he banged my bottom tooth. When I got home and could feel my mouth again hours later I noticed a piece of my tooth was missing. I let him know next visit and he said he would fix it. I was only slightly worried at this point. In June, while in New York a filling he had just filled in April fell out. I found another dentist as quickly as I could. The nerve was inflamed. I could not afford the root canal so it had to be removed. I reported it to masshealth. Two of my bottom left teeth have holes in them as well that he had filled in April. I am having to pay to get those fixed. Masshealth told me to go to back to him, but I am too afraid of what more damage he would do. My front tooth also had a piece fall out of it and I had to pay to have it fixed. This past Thursday another filling he had done fell out. It was close to the gum. I managed to get to my new dentist yesterday and she did a great job repairing it so I didn't have to lose another tooth considering I cannot afford a root canal. I have a tooth above it that is also very sensitive. My current dentist xrayed my whole mouth. She said that filling was done close to the nerve and may eventually need a root canal as well. It is sensitive when I chew. I cannot eat certain foods anymore because of what this dentist has done to me. I also feel he may have been doing fillings in teeth that didn't need it. I was scheduled for two more fillings but decided not to go. When my current dentist checked and xrayed she did not see any cavities. My concern is Dr. Jim Meletlidis mostly works with people and many children on masshealth that so many innocent children will have these problems at such a young age. I had to take out a credit card to pay to fix all the damage he has done. I am a single mother. He also worked on my daughter who now has sensitive teeth. read more

The last two times I have been to Dr Dental, I made my appointments with the understanding I only had so much time before I needed to be to work. Each time I was guaranteed, fist patient no problem. Each time I explained my situation to the receptionist and the tech. Both times I sat in the waiting room for ten minutes and then waited for dentist another 15-20 min. She continually forgot what we talked about at previous appointments, tried to do a filling on a tooth that she filled the appointment before, talked down to me like a child, and told me that she was too busy to remember the last time we spoke. Guaranteed to wait at least 1.5 hours for an appointment. It is clear they overbook to get the money but this, in turn, leads to a poor experience for the person waiting when he/she made an appointment. I made an appointment only to come in and be told they couldn't find my appointment. I provided my appointment card and was met with "we haven't used that appointment card in months"...I received that appointment card two weeks ago when I had to wait 1.5 hours to be seen for that appointment. Was told I would have to wait an hour, which I know means 1.5-2 hours. I'll take my business elsewhere where I don't have to wait forever to be seen. My son was there yesterday for dental work. They dropped the drill bit down his throat, panicked, smacked him on the back several times thinking he would cough it up only to have it lodge in his right lung. He is now in a Boston Hospital, awaiting surgery today to remove the lodged drill bit from the lower lobe of his lung. VERY SERIOUS. Poor protocol at the dentist office. He should have been transported to an ER by ambulance, instead they let him leave with a ride only to then be transported from a local hospital to Boston because of the seriousness. Dr. Shah is the worst dentist Ive ever seen. Seen her for an emergency appointment today. I'm 34 weeks pregnant with bad toothache. She says I need a root canal on my front tooth without even giving me an X-ray. She wouldn't give me an X-ray without a medical clearance from my obgyn. Yet she felt perfectly comfortable telling me I needed a root canal! I offered to sign a medical waiver releasing her from any responsibility after all I am the patient and it is MY child's safety. She refused to treat me or offer me any advise for the pain. She stated I could get a medical clearance from my obgyn and the soonest she had for me to come back was in two days!!! So meanwhile she expects me to stay in pain, I can't even eat or drink bc the pain is so bad and I'm pregnant. I waited over an hour just to be seen and by the time she actually seen me my obgyn office had just closed. So I walked out same way I went in with no antibiotics or anything for the pain. I have gone to this dentist 4 times now and I can assure you yesterday was my LAST time. Receptionist is very rude..also heard another patient comment on her rudeness while i was there. My appointment was at 4:30. I arrived at 4:20..they made me fill out paperwork again even though I had been there only a year ago. well 4:30 comes and goes. 4:55 they finally bring me in the exam room and took x-rays. The two assistants then proceeded to have an entire conversation in Spanish like I was not even there..now it's 5:30 and I am still sitting there like an idiot..only when I put my hands up in the air like,,um hello... remember me???..did they finally go and get the doctor. I work hard and pay for my dental insurance and they made me feel like they were doing me a favor.
