While she was very conversational, it felt like she was looking to take on bigger cases of "trauma" than she considered my struggles to be (though, mind you, I would consider what I went through quite traumatic). Overall, it felt like my feelings and thoughts were overlooked, and the narrative she was forming was not accurate (which I voiced). But honestly, it may have just been a personality difference between me & her. So I'd give her a first session if I were you.

When we first met Dr. Carroll my daughter had just been diagnosed with autism and was extremely…read moreanxious about seeing a psychiatrist, especially a male psychiatrist. Within one appointment, she felt completely at ease and knew she didn't want to see anyone else. That level of trust says so much about the kind of doctor he is. Over the years, he has always gone above and beyond to meet his patients where they are. He has been incredibly patient, flexible, and understanding, always making sure my daughter felt comfortable and heard. Whether we were traveling, moving across the country, or dealing with medication questions, he was always there to help us problem-solve and make sure continuity of care was never interrupted. The transformation in my daughter has been nothing short of life-changing. There was a time when she barely left her room and didn't think she'd ever be able to do the things other young adults her age were doing. Today, she is attending college, flying on airplanes, traveling with friends, getting blood work done, and living a life filled with hopes and dreams she once thought were impossible. Seeing her gain independence and confidence has been one of the greatest gifts, and Dr. Harry Carroll played a huge role in making that possible. He has also cared for my husband, a military veteran, and after years of seeing different providers, Dr. Harry Carroll was the one who truly listened and focused on what worked best for him as an individual. The positive changes have been remarkable and have greatly improved his quality of life. Dr. Carroll is not only highly knowledgeable, but genuinely compassionate. He listens, he cares, and he treats people with kindness and respect. Our family is incredibly grateful for everything he has done for us over the years. Saying goodbye after all this time is bittersweet, but we will always be thankful for the difference he made in our lives. His text answering service is always on top of things and very kind as well. If you're looking for a psychiatrist who truly cares about his patients and goes above and beyond, I cannot recommend Dr. Carroll highly enough. We are very sad to no longer be in his care. Thank you Dr. Carroll.

My wife sought treatment at Livewell for trauma-related mental health care. Unfortunately our…read moreexperience there was very troubling. Her medication specialist, Trish, repeatedly added medications during appointments until my wife was taking a large number of prescriptions. Eventually my wife expressed that she was uncomfortable continuing to add medications and wanted to focus more on therapy. During our last appointment with Trish, I was present and heard her say that the holiday season could be difficult and that my wife should lean a little heavier on her medications if needed. She also said that if my wife ran out early, she should call and it would not be a problem. Shortly after this, my wife experienced the death of a close family member. She followed the instructions she had been given and leaned on the medications during that difficult time. When she ran out slightly early and contacted the office as instructed, the response from Trish was extremely hostile and accusatory. Instead of receiving support, my wife was labeled as a drug seeker. Following that situation, she was denied further medication management and also refused counseling services including EMDR therapy that had previously been discussed. Communication with the office was also difficult. Whitney at the front desk often did not return urgent medication calls, and interactions with Mary were consistently dismissive and unhelpful. When my wife attempted to leave a review about her experience, Michelle, the manager, contacted her and told her the review needed to be removed and claimed that mentioning staff members by name was illegal, which is simply not accurate. The only positive outcome from this situation came from Cathy, who overheard what was happening and later helped my wife continue receiving care outside of Livewell. Mental health patients deserve compassion, stability, and support--especially during times of grief and trauma. Our experience at Livewell was the opposite. If you are considering treatment here, I strongly encourage you to seek help elseware. This was the most traumatizing experience we ever had!!!
