The house has many artifacts that are true to the Davis family. We learned a treasure of information from our tour guide Jeff. He was able to answer both of our questions and we had many of them. Jeff was able to tailor the tour to our interests providing a personalized experience. This tour of an exquisite mansion was top-notch due to Jeff and his wealth of knowledge and pleasant personality.

All proceeds go to local charities and agencies. We parked in the local cemetery- people were dying to get into this place! Great food! Lots of walking and talking! Friendly people from all over the world. Also, don't miss the festival on the other side of town near the high school. A great weekend that shouldn't be missed!

The drive to the drive in through the countryside is as captivating as any film. It's great there are two screens to pick from. The lot has plenty of room for cars. Using the radio audio to listen to the movie works easily. One note: Be prepared to wait for food (the burger barn is quicker); our kids missed the beginning of the movie. The staff was friendly. They offer a good selection of food. We ordered a pizza to eat during the hour we were there before the film started. As dusk approached we revisited the concession stand to stock up on your typical movie snacks. Overall it was a fun experience. But the following are things to consider when attending - these are not criticisms, just things to consider. 1. We arrived at 7pm and left at 11:45pm - this was for Fast X - a pretty normal length movie. 2. There are all the normal ads and previews prior to the movie starting. 3. There is an intermission -15 minutes 4. You need to start your car every once in a while to recharge you battery. You can rent a radio for a very reasonable price. If your car battery dies, they will give you a jump.

Some of the exhibits can get a bit wordy; if you read it all - you'd be there all day - but that's great for a deep dive for stuff you're interested in.

Moore's Victorian home along side his beautiful one of a kind personal libraries! It's a stunning mansion to go through. The tour was very educational and done by a very nice woman that knows it very well. It is said that Attorney Moore was a very good friend of Abraham Lincoln. There are many artifacts intact that you can see on the 3 floors of this beautiful home. It also includes the 1860 carriage barn and working blacksmith shop exhibit. In 1979 it was added to the Historic Places registry!

So ridiculously stupid. The concession stand offerings were also lame and unhealthy. I bought $5 bottle of water and $8 grilled chicken breast sandwich. No mayo offered, only ketchup and mustard. I removed most of the bun so I could eat it. We won 42-10, it was a blow out and most Illinois State fans left early. Outdoor football was really cool.

Bathrooms are plentiful and clean. They still let you bring in water bottles and they have drinking fountains for refilling them -- as they should. The clear bag policy is annoying but fairly standard anymore. The inability to bring in food is also quite annoying but standard. If they are going to have that policy, they should have more concession stands so that lines are tolerable, and the concession prices are a bit brutal. But...Go Redbirds!
