How many residents stay here? What is the nurse to patient ratio?

It looks like approx. 110-120 patients The times I've visited on my side there seems to always be 2 nurses per patient or room but I'm not walking around exploring that's… Read more

The staff is professional, very attentive and caring and I highly recommend this loving facility to take care of your loved one when the time comes. The facility is well-managed and very clean. My mom always looked fresh and well cared for during our visits, and her room and bedding were always immaculate. There are many activities to keep the residents engaged, like Bingo, music, and puzzles. They even had an artist come in and give the residents a painting lesson, which I thought was really cool! I was notified immediately whenever they had a health concern about my mom, and prompt action was always taken. My brother and I will be forever grateful for the peace and comfort we felt knowing our mother was well cared for, safe, and loved. Our mother recently passed away peacefully at age 94. Because of the loving care they gave our momma, my brother and I plan to stay in touch with our friends at Lakewood Gardens because we consider them extended family, we are blessed! We want to thank the Assistant Administrator, Jeenne, for doing such a great job managing such a wonderful facility, the amazing nursing staff, Helida, Chris, and Joanna, lovely Rita, and Yvonne in the office, and all the kind and gentle caregivers for your abundant love! May God bless you all for all you do for those in need! With love, Lora and Dale.

I told her because of the stressful nature of having to put my fiancé's mother into a care facility, I wanted her to slowly explain the process so it would be a done deal by the time we arrived with her mother. She was rude and insisted it would not be a done deal as SHE is the one who decides. She clearly thought I was trying to undermine her authority when instead I was trying to make the process as smooth as possible for both mother and daughter. I think my favorite part was when she asked me if my soon to be mother in law was ambulatory. I said yes, she needs a walker to transition to and from her wheelchair. I was corrected and was told she would NOT be considered ambulatory by their standards. Ambulatory: verb: relating to or adapted for walking. noun: a place for walking, especially an aisle around the apse or a cloister in a church or monastery. The woman in charge should be fired or receive corrective training and education immediately since she is so ignorant about commom medical terminology and clueless about being understanding towards peoples feelings in a sressful situation such as putting your mother in a home. Disgraceful! When I asked for her information because I wanted to complain about the treatment, she refused and threw me out. The staff seemed friendly but who cares with management like that.

From the administrative staff to the nurses, therapists, and caregivers, every single person went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable, safe, and supported. The admin team was always organized, communicative, and compassionate they made the entire admission and care coordination process smooth and stress-free. The nurses and CNAs treated my aunt with such kindness and dignity, always attentive to her needs and quick to offer a smile or comforting words. The rehab and therapy staff were equally amazing, helping her regain strength and independence while encouraging her every step of the way. You can truly tell that everyone here cares deeply about their patients' recovery and well-being. The facility was always clean, the atmosphere positive, and the staff made sure family members were kept informed and involved. We're incredibly grateful for the professionalism, warmth, and dedication shown throughout her entire stay. Cerritos Vista truly sets the standard for quality care in Bellflower we highly recommend them to any family seeking a place where their loved one will be treated with compassion and respect.

This place is terrible and I speak from experience. My mother was here for about twenty days late last year and it was a nightmare. I am confident that my mom would not be at home right now, getting better every day, if she came back to Cerritos Vista instead of going to a different, far better, facility. Many of the nurses were rude and acted like we were irritating them when we asked them to do something basic for my mom. The kitchen was shut down for days because of a cockroach infestation that went unchecked for weeks (don't believe me? Read the December 2025 inspection report). The facility wasn't very clean. The food was not good. You never knew when the physical trainers were going to show up and they didn't stay long when they did come. You could wait for hours for your loved one to be changed if they can't go to the bathroom themselves. The gym rarely had anyone in it and that's not an accident. If your loved one needs significant physical therapy to recuperate, do not send them here. They will improve slowly at best and will likely deteriorate due to lack of movement. The doctor that the facility assigned to my mother (who recommended this awful place for reasons I can only speculate about) was unreachable and never visited. Some people who worked there were well-meaning, but they had terrible managers, and were not properly trained. They were also understaffed. I could write a book about everything wrong with this place but the fact that people don't want to work here should tell you everything. I'll end this review with one final insult my family endured because of this place. My mom, who is now safely at home, was hospitalized again after coming to Cerritos Vista. The managers at Vista told us that my mom's room would be held for seven days. About five days later, having decided Cerritos Vista was not fit for human habitation, I went back to get her things from the room. All of her things had been bagged and put into a locked office I could not get access to. There was a new resident in her room, contrary to what they promised. On my way out, some employee overheard what I said to a nurse about it, and found a way to get inside the room with her belongings and gave me some of them. We didn't get a lot of her things back (we lost a chair, some seat cushions, two pairs of shoes, etc.) but I didn't want to return to get them. That's how much I dislike this place. I wouldn't put someone I hated here. Again, if you don't believe me, don't take my word for it. Just read all of the information and inspection reports about this place on ProPublica and Medicare.gov.
