I called in today as I wanted to pick up a couple of kitchen utensils, and as I had plenty of time on my lunch hour, I thought I'd take a look around. The do a wide range of goods; homeware, gardening goods, toiletries, beauty, food, DIY etc - the store is absolutely crammed with 'stuff' and loads of staff pushing cages which the shopper has to navigate.. One of the aisles in the middle of the store, randomly has a dead end, so if you want to continue, you have to double back. Lots of goods lying around, too, and when getting served the guy continued a conversation with his colleague and never acknowledged me. It is what it is, and you do get the odd bargain though!

I saw a Samsung, 720p for a measly £329. Quite a bargain considering the brand and the picture quality. Rumour had it that a cash purchase would guarantee a substantial saving over most 'chain stores' so we decided it was well worth an investigation. Walking in just before closing time is never a great idea for a browse but the staff were more than happy to let us head upstairs and check out the fridge selection. The stock was a bit limited and as we were working to a specific size brief for the fridge (it had to fit into a pre-determined space) we unfortunately didn't find what we were after. Downstairs they had a huge selection of smaller electrical goods and at the back a wall of pretty sweet looking TV's. Someone had decided to play an Iron Maiden live DVD on one of them so it was a rather striking contrast to the surroundings of the shop, possibly a last ditch attempt to clear before closing time. Pros: Great staff, very helpful and pricing is very competitive. Cons: Not a huge selection.

They stock a wide range of over the counter medicines and remedies, and a good range of hair and beauty products, items for babies and children, and other necessities.

They gave a wide range of items for sale, the usual over the counter medicines as well as yankee candles, jewellery, perfumes, cleaning products and gift sets. They always have offers on and you can pick up a few bargains every week. They also do a prescription collection service so you just order your repeat items with them and it is ready in a few days. Saves spending 20 mins trying to get through to the health centre.

This is sort of a brick a brack shop selling cut price sweets, fixtures and fittings for your home, toys and industrial goods. It is one of those shops you would go to if you just want to have a nosey around and are not quite sure what you want. The staff are really helpful too, today I watched one of them go out of there way to search the stock room for two cushions for an old lady. They always have plenty of staff on too, so you will not be searching for anyone to help you.

The pharmacy itself is a Holywood institution and is very much a customer-orientated chemists (as I learned). Sweeney's is one of the bigger independent pharmacies, offering a great range of perfume, makeup, toiletries and pharmaceutical stock at very affordable prices. My sister managed to find pressed powder for £2.99 (those bright yellow labels are incredibly alluring), and decided to purchase that. All in all, a very good experience was had at Sweeney's. If I need any kind of advice on medicines and the like (oh please no), I *will* be back.

There is a wide range of products from household to food ,pets ,toys ,gardening diy and of course seasonal. Their prices are very competitive and in most cases with this type of store you get what you pay for, but most of the products are of good quality. I went in to have a look for items suitable for filling a shoebox which is a charitable appeal at Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised because I was able to find almost everything that I needed to fill these boxes for a very reasonable price and the quality of the products was of a high standard. The layout of the shop is good with nice wide aisles to allow browsing space,and the shelves are of a suitable height to allow ease of reach. Staff are frindly and helpful and I noticed that everyone was greated personally by the staff on the tills .
