Instructors are very nice and approachable to discuss material work, even if you are shy and timid. They help students understand the course. They believe in teaching rather than indoctrinating. I also played Soccer there and every sport program respects other programs and students. In my years of going to college, I've been to three. Two in Colorado and one in South Dakota. And nothing compares to how Otero makes you feel like you're at home. Oh and if you do something wrong, everyone in town knows about it and who you are. But the sporting events are a amazing to go to. It is by far one of the best decisions I made for higher education. Also, I have never once came across any racist employees at that school.

I plan on attending a few classes during this coming fall since I missed summer registration. You know, to get my education on before moving to a more populated area of Colorado. Otero Junior College isn't far from my temporary spot in Rocky Ford. Two towns away, this college offers great programs being in the middle of nowhere. The campus is well groomed with ample lighting. From the outside looking in, it looks far better then my old bunny infested community college in the LBC (Long Beach City College in Cali to be exact). The staff that answered the phone in admissions was also pretty cordial and gave me a few tips as far as what I should do to enroll and avoid the high non-resident fees. I have yet to start the entire process since I'm now in limbo on attending because we don't plan to stay in the area very long. Nonetheless, their cosmetology classes and medical rich curriculum is very enticing, indeed! I heard their nursing program is top notch as well.

Tons of fun on any day or night of the week!…read more I came to Brushes N Beverages Art Studio for the first time on a Friday night. I had heard a lot about this place recently and was looking forward to trying it out. It is located in a downtown loft space right across from the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center with lots of parking in the front off of Sante Fe. When I arrived the owners Rick and Sue welcomed me into their beautiful paint studio and offered me a variety of drinks and snacks to choose from. I spent the first few minutes getting acquainted with the nice and friendly owners, the teacher of the class, and the other students, then it was time to put my apron on and get to painting! The studio is fairly large for lots of individual painters, as well as for bigger private parties/groups. We all got to pick a seat which was already set up with our own personal easel, canvas, brushes, and a variety of paints to get started. Apparently Brushes N Beverages offers different painting themes on different days/nights of the month. On this particular night we painted a beautiful mountain range with a sunset lit sky! I have no prior painting experience and I have to say that I have not had this much fun in a long time! The teacher was super patient and thoroughly explained which brushes to use, how to mix our colors to make our paintings a little more customizable (the guy next to me wanted to paint a "Denver Bronco colored sunset"), how to create different blending effects, textures, etc.. She even walked around to check on each of our paintings a few times to offer specific help and tips on how to make our paintings as beautiful as possible. After a very enjoyable 2 hours I found myself sitting in front of a beautiful masterpiece! haha! I am so proud of my painting and everything that I learned in just one night at Brushes N Beverages, but most of all, when I look at my painting I remember how much fun it was and what a new experience it was for me in Pueblo! I am going to highly recommend this place to everyone I know! I already want to bring all of my family and friends back here so that they can experience it too! I imagine this place would be perfect for family outings, a cool date experience, girls night out, bachelorette parties, work functions, family/high school reunions, birthday parties, baby showers..the list goes on! Basically, it would be perfect for any occasion where you want to do something different, learn something new, have a drink, relax, have fun, and be proud of yourself when you sign your beautiful painting with your name!
