Richard was incredibly patient with the family while we decided on casket and service, explaining the entire process while Larissa was extremely generous with snacks and drinks. Our family is eternally thankful for your caring spirit and professionalism.

If I could give zero stars, I would. There aren't even words right now to describe the…read moredissatisfaction I experienced working with Richard Reidy. He was the rudest, most uncaring, narcissistic, and untrustworthy person I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. My father passed away unexpectedly and my mother called him because he was a "good friend" of my grandfather's (whose funeral he did in 2007). When he came to pick up my father's body from his home, he walked in like a businessman worth no compassion or regard for what my mother was going through (finding her husband of 39 years dead on the kitchen floor at age 66). He rushed my mother to make a decision about the handling of his body and the funeral services, not offering her choices, but rather TELLING her what SHE wanted and getting her to agree with whatever HE wanted in her shock state. It only got worse from there. He set up a meeting with her to sign the contract for the funeral services. She told him her children were going to be there because she has MS and she has a hard time understanding and remembering things. He showed up 30 minutes early to the meeting and insisted they start before my brother and I got there. When I arrived, he rudely stated that he didn't want to have to go over everything that they already discussed. He tried to force her into buying a special (expensive) urn to bury my father's remains. He then ARGUED with us about where my father's parents were buried (and he was WRONG). He presented the urn burial in a way that made it seem like that was my mother's only option. She did not want this and I had to argue with him that we simply wanted the cremated remains put into an urn and returned to us. He was outwardly displeased by the interruption in his sales pitch. He was rude, condescending, he rushed is through a very difficult time with no offer of sympathy or concern for our mental wellbeing. He said we would get a small room (her specified not the parlor) and maximum of 2 hours. He told my mom it would be a private service for family only. That's all he offered, like she had no choice. It was not at all what she wanted. It was not what my father wanted. When my mother asked what day we could schedule the service his response was, "What day can you get me the check?" Then, after disregarding my brother and my opinions and input the entire (20 minute) meeting, he turned to us and asked who was responsible for payment of the funeral to sign the contract. I even had to put my SSN on there. We ultimately contacted another funeral home that had done an absolutely AMAZING job with my ex-husband's funeral. The service and consideration we received was like night and day. I do not know how Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home is still in business.
