False teaching mixed in very subtly (hard to spot). Nice people, but unbiblical in many areas…read more Initially sounds Godly, looks nice, however after listening to sermons there are major concerns. Alterations of definitions in the Bible and skipping over verses to fit their narrative of Kingdom Now Theology, New Apostolic Reformation, & Christian-Dominionism (research yourself). You cannot skip words, or alter definitions, or take scripture out of context! That is... you know what.
Connected to Bethel Church since they promote the Global Awakening, which is a network of global false teaching, including Bill Johnson (you can research, gotquestions.com is a good starter for most topics theologically in here). Lord help them. Read about "spheres on influence" from the gateway house of prayer (referenced on their site) and that is unbiblical. We don't make his kingdom come with spheres of influence like the 7 mountain mandate. Only the LORD's will be done. That turns into prosperity gospel very subtly and easily. There is an over emphasis on dominion in Genesis in some messages, and also emphasized "multiply" often and have children for the same reason. Sounds biblical, however it's for more people, more influence, more prosperity gospel. Multiply and prosper, open businesses for God. Heard on a prophecy night "God will bless you with wealth" - it's online. That is 100% prosperity gospel. Along with spheres of influence (mandates).
I did hear a pastor say (it's online) in their vision/plan was to "skim over scripture" which is a nice way to say pick and chose, which means taking scripture out of context, which is heresy. You can listen for yourself.
Healings and prophecy are over emphasized and formulated. I bet actual healing takes place because of the heart of the person, and I will not deny that. People are saved and that is a blessing too.
Gifts are given, but new age teaches gifts too, and that is exactly what this is in a gentle way. Counterfeit Christianity and man-made religion. Supernatural ministry schools are new age, Sozo paintings, etc.
This is nothing new, been taught for years, since the fall of man. Can't blame the staff, they were just following who taught them. Need to learn from other theologies outside of Randy Clark's & Global Awakening. Sounds nice, but if you have the time to study it, it's unbiblical. There are many warnings in the Bible if you alter scripture or become a luke-warm Christian following the ways of man.
Revelation 3: 15-22
Study Amos 5 if you want to know what God thinks about Bethel and their music, which is promoted. v5 "Seek me and live: but do not seek Bethel" and also v21-24 which is a warning.
I pray the upper leadership repents and turns from their ways of following man, money, and pride/power. In the name of Jesus..... He welcomes you to turn from this organized man-made doctrine and simply follow the bible. Back to basics. Reminder: Jesus hated false religion. He did flip some tables and exposed hypocrisy.
I could cite more, however I will continue to pray that the church wakes up. Everyone reading this would quote here saying Matt 7:1 "Judge not, that you be not judged" and I know the weight of this message.
He also said in John 7:24 "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with RIGHT judgement". So I humbly ask that you do your homework.
You have to research it yourself historically, biblically, and listen carefully with discernment for yourself. Don't take my word for it, GET IN THE WORD. The holy spirit will lead us all to the truth.
"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen" - Jude 24 (book about false teaching)
