I love Double Dave's and this one isn't bad with food. But if you're home with your family and decide you don't want to cook or leave your house, and think "let's order a pizza!" Don't do it from Double Dave's. As I type this I'm still waiting for my order... almost 2 hours later. It's super awesome to have 5 kids aged 10 and under waiting 2 hours for food. If they would bother to give you an estimate on wait time then maybe I would have gone to get it, or just ordered from Dominoes. Pizza was super greasy and crust was poor, had it for lunch and was not impressed at all. Giving them three stars because the pepperoni rolls are awesome and are buy one get one free on certain days (Tuesday's I think?). Double Dave's Pizzaworks 2300 Chisholm Trl. ---- This place is great! I have been to other Double Dave's in Austin and they just are not as good as the one in Round Rock (I drive an extra 10 miles to go to this one). My favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Pizza with Spicy wing sauce & homemade Ranch dressing combo covered with mozzarella cheese & chicken strips The other DD's joints in Austin use to much of the Ranch dressing in the sauce mix [it becomes more of a Ranch pizza, not my thing] The Round Rock store gets it just right and fresh. Plus they don't just toss out pies on the buffet that people might eat like the one on 11900 Metric Blvd.. The pizza is old and done so so at best. The DD's at 13343 Hwy 183 North. (Lakeline) is good, they just need to be a little more attentive to the customers needs and use less ranch in the Buffalo Sauce, keep it Spicy and add more Ranch just for a Kid's Mild Buffalo Chicken Pizza (they said that it is pre-mixed) They all have the Philly Cheese-steak Stromboli, it's really good too. On this one they all could use some practice on keeping the meat to cheese ratio at 50/50. give it a shot, it's about $8.00 for adults to have the buffet and a soda plus dessert. Enjoy! read more

I have an AirBnB and have this location of Double Dave's as a favorite based on the north Austin location Not anymore... Ordered a Medium Pizza. Onion, Green Pepper, Sausage and Garlic. $23 and change. So had crust and sauce and plenty of chopped tomatoes, no onions, microchips of Green pepper and sausage, and hardly any cheese and maybe 3 bites of garlic.So tasted like a tomato sauce and tomato pieces pieces, medium for $23. I wished Marcos delivered here and we get it at work, It's so far above any others in taste and toppings, also I eat pizza at the mall where i work and its good can't think of the name. If ya want a shitty pizza just buy dominoes and save $10. read more

After a meh experience at the Georgetown location, we gave this location a shot. It was great! For a buffet, they really pile on the toppings and provide a lot of fresh options (maybe more vegetarians ones, though?). We love it and have returned more than once. read more

Do not order on a Tuesday if you are looking to eat within the next 1hr and a half or so. I placed an order tonight at 6pm, and it arrived 3 minutes ago. I got an email 40 minutes ago that the pizza was out for delivery. I live about 3 miles or so from the shop, so I called to see what the issue was. Immediately put on hold, and the lady who answered was unable to pull up my order. On hold again, and the manager said that the drivers were checking out the deliveries early, before the order was even done, and that he should be here any minute. There was no way that it had been out for delivery for 40 minutes. When the pizza arrives a few minutes later, it's luke warm at best. I would have to imagine it's been sitting in the car for a while. The manager explained that the rush on Tuesdays is due to the pizza rolls special, and that it just takes a long time. Customer service skills are non existent with him. What it sounds like is he has no idea what his drivers are doing, and how long they are out. I've ordered from other locations before, and was very pleased with their service. I don't think I'll be continuing that here in Round Rock though. Fair warning to those who read this. Tuesdays are to be avoided. read more

We had family from out of town and decided to go eat there. We were a group of 10 and we asked if we could sit on the elevated area where they have bigger tables and the pimply kid cleaning said they were closing at 9 and he had cleaned already. Love Double Dave's Pizza Rolls, but hardly ever partake because I'm older and more responsible than I was in my college days. So I was so excited to order dinner from them this past Saturday, thinking "it's been almost a year since I last ate at Double Daves!!", and it happened to be the same Double Daves in Round Rock as a year ago. Last time, we ordered online, and ended up with a long wait for our pickup. Well, it happened again. I ordered on the phone, and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. So I arrive at the designated time, and wait, and wait, and wait. I wound up waiting for 40 minutes AFTER I arrived to pick up my food. Now, I understand they were busy, but if they had simply been realistic about the wait time when I called in the order, all would be well. When I expressed my frustration to the "manager", she said "we'll get right on that order". Duh, you should have been on that order at the beginning of the 20 minute time estimation you gave me in the first place!! The lack of respect given to the customers by management at this location is the reason for the 2 stars on this review. The food, once we got it, was it's usual high quality that I remember at TX A&M, where it was founded. While I was waiting, there were several other customers waiting for their food as well, some over 45 minutes, so I know mine wasn't just an accidental forgotten order. And they were well-staffed so that wasn't the cause. I believe it was just run-of-the-mill mismanagement, which is unfortunate, because the food is excellent! I will however think twice about going to this location again. And a simple "sorry" from the manager would have gone a long way, or a complimentary drink while waiting for 40 minutes in the restaurant for the order to be ready. When I think of Double Dave's I think of two things.. Pepperoni Rolls and the super delicious (so delicious I always eat way too much of) Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli.. I love it soo much I could probably eat one all by myself.. I love the buffet for this reason :) Everything else is okay, service is usually pretty good and the buffet seems to stay filled up most of the time. read more

My new addiction. I've been to DD many times from my corporate appt over by Metrix to our family home now in Round Rock. I've visited the buffet twice in two weeks. I could go back tomorrow. $2 beers and $8 buffet. The salad is fresh, crisp, and doesn't even need dressing. The pizza--they always pop one of my favs into the oven while I'm munching on salad. Simple and wonderful. The owner/GM is super nice too. All of you corporate workers, take a break from those cubicals and grab some pizza! read more

The pizza, was ok. The pizza rolls were ok as well. But the place is very small to have a buffett. We went there on Wednesday Buffet night, and I mean you had to fight to get pizza. People are blocking the isles because the place is so small. The benches were very uncomfortable as well. Not a great experience. The Staff? Well I walk in, have no idea if you get waited on or not, figured out you have to go to the back to pay for the buffet, no problem. I told the girl at the counter it was my first time, and if I needed to pay up front, etc. The salad bar was good, clean. Didnt realize that they also put their pizza rolls out on the buffet, so I ordered 6 of them. The person at the register didnt even mention that. I discovered after I order them, that there were pizza rolls out. When the girl brought me the pizza rolls, I told her that, and she said ah well, we are low on them anyway So I wasted $11 on pizza rolls. My mistake, but you think she could have spoke up. Poor quality staff. The food is ok. The place is too small, very cramped. Buffet night was not enjoyable at all. Will not go back. Not worth the frustration, IMO. The best staff in the place was the guy busting and cleaning tables, he had better customer service than the register person....he needs to be promoted to the register position. read more

We went on Sunday, March 26th around 5pm. The place was filthy- dirty booths, paper towels and debris everywhere. Probably should've left then, but the family was hungry. We did their Sunday night 2 large 2 topping pizzas and I ordered a 1 trip salad bar. However, the salad bar had no lettuce and was missing more than half its contents. So I asked, BEFORE placing our order, if it was closed, being restocked, etc. The guy taking our order said he would be restocking it in 5 minutes. Ok. I can wait. In the meantime, they are out of forks, knives, unsweet and sweet tea at the drink station. Really not impressed now. 10 minutes go by, salad bar still waiting for contents. Mr. 5 Minutes is out sweeping the floor, cleaning booths, but not restocking the salad bar or anything else. Nor is anyone else doing these things. I get that the place needed cleaning, but when you have people waiting for things, those should be the priority. There are now two additional people waiting on the salad bar. I ask again. Was told they were working on it. It's now been 25 minutes and our pizza is about ready. I wanted my salad before our meal. So, I ask for a refund. I got attitude from the young last behind the counter. What? You can't give me what I ordered but you're going to be put out that I want a refund? Then I was told they would have to cancel our order and re-bill it, but the original charge would be "hanging out there for a day or two." Um nope. Not acceptable. The lady behind the counter can't seem to grasp why this is not acceptable. You can't just give me $3.49 out of the till? Nope. By this time, I'm hangry, over her attitude, so I made the Hubs deal with the incompetence that is their staff and POS system. Finally, she consented to giving him a $10 gift card. He forgot it on the table when we left, which is fine because we won't be back anytime soon. Complete lack luster customer service. Understaffed and no concept of how to prioritize activity. And the pizza was really not worth the wait we had for that. If I go back, it will be under duress and because someone else is paying. read more

This pizza is great, especially the philly cheese steak stromboli. The buffet is pretty clean. The only thing is the owner/manager lady is kinda rude. She gets mad if your kid goes up to the buffet by themselves. She jerked the tongs right out of my son's hands and served him herself. My son is pretty careful and isn't messy. Horrible customer service! One of their delivery drivers almost ran over my family members as they squealed out of the parking lot. When we called to complain, the person who identified himself as the owner was extremely rude, defended his drivers unsafe driving, and offered no apology. That should have been enough to end our longstanding patronage, but those pepperoni rolls are just too tempting, so I gave them another chance. I called in my order for pickup and gave them 30 minutes notice. When I got their to pick up my order an older gentleman (who appeared to be the owner) could not find my order on their system and had difficulties ringing me up. I was curtly told by him "it would be a minute". I proceeded to wait 15 minutes. At least I was entertained for a while by the manic cussing cook throwing pizza boxes around the kitchen. Really, I couldn't make this up if I tried. Tired of waiting, I asked how much longer only to find that my now cold pizza rolls were sitting there the entire time. Again no apology. The tone from the top here is terrible and this franchise puts a black mark on Double Daves otherwise good name. read more
