One of the worst dining experiences I've had, largely because of how rude and dismissive the host staff was and we were there for 4 hours. We had a reservation for 8 people at 7:45 PM. We were told we couldn't be seated until our entire party arrived. Once everyone was there, I went to check on our table and was told they didn't even have one for us and couldn't tell us how long the wait would be. Instead of offering solutions, the hostess acted annoyed that we were asking for updates. We eventually had to ask to split the group just so some of us could sit down. A table opened right next to our friends, and we were told it would be ours, but we were made to wait another 20 minutes because they said we couldn't sit until menus arrived. During that time, other guests were seated before us. The hostess who was seating us, repeatedly ignored us whenever we politely asked for updates. Her attitude made us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by asking about our reservation. When we were finally seated, we were told tables couldn't be pushed together because it was a "fire hazard," yet another large party nearby had tables combined. The service didn't improve. Our Miami Spice meal came out in pieces, our mushroom truffle rice was forgotten, and our server initially argued that we had never ordered it before later admitting we had. After nearly three hours, we'd lost our appetite, and he even commented, "After all that, you don't even finish it," which was incredibly unprofessional. To top it off, we were celebrating a birthday, and the server brought out the sparkler while the birthday girl was in the restroom, causing her to miss the celebration. We spent nearly four hours at the restaurant. Between the rude and dismissive host staff, the disorganization, the slow service, and the food not worth all that. I wanted to love Double Knot, but this place is a bit "hit or miss," from the food, to the cocktails, and also the service. We were a larger group (11 people) and they enforced a pretty hefty minimum spend which was a little wasteful as it put pressure on us to order way more than needed. They were not able to accommodate many changes on the menu which left my Gluten Free/Vegan friends a little limited in options, especially as one has a mushroom and cucumber allergy). The cocktails are also batch made in advance instead of being fresh, so they are difficult to modify. Throughout the meal dirty plates stacked up, leaving a very cluttered table, and certain dishes took forever to come out. For example, everyone was waiting to order dessert but we were still missing a sushi roll ordered 30+ minutes before in a half empty restaurant. When it finally came it was not worth waiting for at all. There were also issues like they served two portions of the miso eggplant for two different people on one plate, without us knowing, so only one person received this. They brought a bottle of Pellegrino to the table, yet no glasses to drink it from. And the dessert menu, or lackthereof, was a disappointing end to the night. Highlights on the menu: - Crispy tofu: Amazing! The miso caramel adds a really fun dimension to the well fried tofu. This is a must get whether you're vegan or not. - Shrimp Udon Mazemen: Delicious although a tad salty. Very good portion! - Double Knot Big Eye Tuna: Another must have! It has a substantial slice of tuna atop an interesting mélange of soft and crunchy vegetables. We should have ordered two of these! - Yellowtail toro nigiri: Melted in the mouth! - Shrimp tacos: Pretty tasty - Mushroom risotto: I didn't personally try this but it was a popular dish on the table Mid-range eats: - Crispy brussel sprouts: Solid offering! - Cauliflower: Tasty but I wish it was crispier Skips: - Yellowtail sashimi (specialty section): This was SO bland and watery tasting. The flavors did not come thru at all. - Spicy baked scallop and crab: Very heavy and too salty - Crispy cucumber: Idk what makes this crispy. Cucumber is crunchy naturally, so maybe that's what it meant, but the description is misleading for what's essentially batons of plain cucumber on top of sauce. - Japanese Wagyu: I think the novelty behind this is the showmanship of grilling your own meat to your preference tableside, but in reality you're precariously trying to flip meat on unstable grate atop a mini charcoal bbq, while smogging out everyone else at the table and restaurant with eye burning and throat clogging smoke. This venue does not have a suitable ventilation system to accommodate this style of cooking. - Dessert: It was soft-serve. Acceptable in terms of taste factor, but a lackluster end to an otherwise fairly creative and inspired albeit inconsistently executed menu. I feel like this was a giant missed opportunity here. They could have had so many fun options. Perhaps a miso caramel brulee, a black sesame cheesecake, a matcha panna cotta, or a yuzu key lime pie? Overall I feel very mixed on Double Knot. I think the majority of the experience was solid, but the bad elements really put a damper on our group dinner here. I would not return for a large dinner, but would perhaps consider it again for a more intimate date night, or to take advantage of their happy hour which is supposed to be stellar. And you know for sure I'll definitely be getting that Big Eye tuna roll and crispy tofu again! read more

Feels like a secret spot in Wyndwood- maybe due to the fact that it's so chill and feels like a world of its own when you come inside. We came for happy hour at a friends recommendation. The drinks are so/so but the bartender are kind and made accommodations for allergies. The best thing that I cannot get out my head are the salmon skewers - literally as I write this I want one. Came in for happy hour which I highly recommend as the deals are excellent. It's located in a good spot, right next to the wynwood walls museum. Our waiter Sunny was excellent and gave great recommendations and was just overall pleasant and charismatic. The food here was so delicious. Great location literally right next to Wynwood Walls. Moody interior with dim, warm lighting. My server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I opted for the $68 Chef's Tasting Menu. A downside is that if you're a solo diner, you only get to choose 9 items rather than the 10. Kind of scammy since they don't mention that anywhere, but that being said, the cumulative portions for the entire meal were more than enough and I had plenty of leftovers. Hidden speakeasy gem - easily my top fave happy hour restaurant in wynwood right now! Inside is sultry with dim lighting and comfy seating. The presentation and plating was well thought out and beautiful. Cannot vouch for the cocktails (there are only 2 in the happy hour menu so you're going for the food here) but the blood knot mocktail had a nice blueberry syrup I enjoyed. The prices are reasonable it's so easy to order the whole menu which is how happy hour should be. (Order a bunch of stuff and try it out)-- I'd leave it up to you on whether or not you think the portion size is worth the it but everything we had was delicious. Not pictured is the karage which is fried chicken - it's huge! I recommend if you're really hungry along with the kimchee rice. I'd return to try more of the robatas. The food here is absolutely amazing! This restaurant is more tapas style sharing so we got a few bites of different things and each bite was flavorful and just really well executed. This is a more upscale dining experience but all things considered I would still consider it to be relatively well priced considering the quality of service and dish execution. The main reason we wanted to come was the miso Carmel ice cream and it was so yummy! While I don't think I would come all the way back just for this dessert again, I would love to try more items on their menu! Everything sounded delicious! Before you walk in, it seems like a hole and once you go inside it's very nice and an entire different vibe. We checked this place out because we were craving Japanese food. You can either do a whole dining experience which I believe was $65-$70 per person or you can order as you please. We weren't super hungry so we did not do the experience. It was still a lot of food nonetheless. All the plates are to share, we got very food with everything we ordered. Each and every plate was delicious. While the structure initially seemed like each guest could choose one item from each category, it turned out to be family-style, with one selection per category shared across the table. Though slightly misleading, the portions were generous and surprisingly satisfying. Here's what we tried: Cold Plate: Tuna Tartare : my favorite dish of the night. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. Small Plate: Wagyu Soup Dumpling : Rich and savory, this was a close second favorite. Robatayaki: Scallops: Delicious with a spicy kick. A great choice if you enjoy heat. Crispy: Fried Chicken : This was the only dish that didn't quite hit the mark. It was okay, but lacked the wow factor. Not so much a looker from the outside, but wow did they take their time to design a beautiful interior. Moody lighting, just right. Nice vibe in there. Great selection, however everyone on the table has to agree on the courses. The star of the night was the food. Incredible flavors and cooking temperatures. Everything other than the mochi was very good. Mochi seemed like a regular freezer isle one. Nothing special. The shrimp yakitori was so good we ordered it again. Tuna tacos flavorful as the starter. I was getting a little worried the bites might be too small to fill me up, but the last to the table: black cod friend rice, significantly helped. I still ordered an extra sushi roll which only had six pieces and a nigiri. Food is flavorful, but the portions may keep you hungry. It's pricey, but quality. Great ambiance. If they couldn't handle more reservations, why do they offer it on the website?? We walked up to the host and ask how much longer and they said 15 minutes or maybe longer. We left. We sat in the lounge and attended by ChiChi. We loved her! She recommended to do some Happy Hour items (sushi rolls) and then Miami Spice. She gave excellent service and even gave us 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The happy hour menu is available every single day from 5-7 and it is very affordable, along with very good portions. Miami Spice is $60 for 6 items and dessert for each. You must note that it is family style and you pick 1 item from each section for the whole table. At first you're like hmmm that's not enough food but trust me, IT IS ALOT OF DELICIOUS FOOD. The restaurant is beautifully done, with tables, a sushi bar and a large cocktail bar that was full by the end of our dinner on Saturday night. The service was exceptional. Blown away by the friendly service (Mariam was our server) and accommodation, and the portion sizes for happy hour food is honestly one of the best deals Ive seen. $8 sake, $8 kimchi fried rice (its supposed to be a shrimp fried rice but it only came with like 2 shrimpies lol) & $9 karaage (about 6-7 pcs). All super hearty, hot and wholesome.
