While vacationing in Lucca, IT I acquired a bladder infection. I was able to contact Dott (Dr.) Piegaja at the suggestion of the property manager of my rental apartment to help resolve my situation. Dr. Piegaja was great: he spoke good English; answered his own phone! ; was open to meeting me on a Saturday morning at his office; was 100% professional and caring during my appointment. He prescribed a couple of antibiotics after my examination which after a few days cleared up the infection. Being ill in a foreign country is not fun: You feel horrible; you are weak; it's hard to communicate effectively; you probably are a bit grumpy and generally not in a good mood. The man took me as a patient while I was on vacation in Lucca Italy. I called him at 6pm about an ankle issue. My wife insisted I see a doctor. We got his number from a Farmacia. The doctor answered his phone, to my amazement. He agreed to meet me at 6:30pm in front of the Farmacia. He showed up on his bicycle promptly at 6:30pm. He took my wife and me to his office across the way from the Farmacia. he prescribed me some antibiotics that proved to put my issue at bay until I saw my own doctor in the USA.
