It has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand and we decided to stop by for a quick bite. The Lahmacun was made fresh and was light and aromatic. It could've used more meat for my liking, and I wish the toppings plate came with pickled cabbage or onions which is still traditional; I've never seen Lahmacun be eaten with lettuce so maybe that's the "tourist option". The Sarımsaklı İsotlu Lahmacun is basically the same thing with garlic & hot pepper if you're looking for more flavor. And of course, you can't eat with this without washing it down with a classic Ayran drink! I wish I tried their grilled meats but maybe next time!

The prices are super reasonable and fair as they are located outside the "tourist zone". We got the Mixed Pide to start which is essentially a flatbread topped with a bunch of ingredients. It was super filling from the toppings but the pide itself was surprisingly thin. It's made fresh and you can tell with each bite. My favorite was the Mixed Kebab which is an assortment of meats over bulgur pilaf and roasted vegetables. Everything was juicy, smoky, and well-seasoned. The grilled chicken wings and adana kebab were my favorites and I absolutely loved pairing it with the onions with sumac. For two people, this was the right amount of food to split and I love that there were tons of protein options here. Staff were friendly, service was quick, and we were seated right away. Solid lunch spot!

Come here while you're in Bodrum. They didn't have a wine list -- but the owner, Enis, a Turk who…read morehas US citizenship, brought out a few bottles of white for us to try before we chose a bottle. He showed us the chef working in the kitchen and we said all the mezzes looked good -- so he brought out a bit of each. He suggested for our mains that we have the shrimp special and the grilled octopus. Yes, do that. They were both flavorful and well prepared. The nautical decor and lovely view of the old city were a treat, and nice to get away from the tourist hordes. But the tourist hordes should climb the hill and come here. You won't be disappointed.

The Eski Koy Special Mixed Kebab is well worth it for two people and takes the decision-making out of the ordering process since it has a good assortment of everything. All the meats were phenomenal! They were tender, juicy, buttery, well-seasoned, charred, smoky, and mouthwatering. The grilled chicken wings blew me away while the adana kebab literally melted in my mouth. The lamb chops were so succulent and the chicken & beef skewers were perfectly cooked. I preferred this meal with white rice as opposed to their bulgur pilaf. Their white rice is buttery, pillowy, and so fragrant. I like that this special came with 2 types of mini lahmacun which was a nice change in texture and also very tasty! We ended with their Kunefe w Cream which was made very well. Being Middle Eastern myself, I love Kunefe and this one was done right! It's sweet but not overly sweet, hot and crispy on the outside, creamy and gooey on the inside. It was complimented by the Turkish Tea which was fragrant and soothing. This meal hit the spot!

We had a classic Turkish breakfast which really was quite a feast and everything looked as tasty as it was. Everything tasted super fresh and we had a great time trying everything. The meal exceeded our expectations by far! The place itself was simple but lovely. They have a spacious patio and a few neighborhood cats roaming around. All in all, this was probably the best meal I had while in Bodrum. I'd be back in a heartbeat!

For what it's worth, the bread is better than the stale stuff you get at most places. The kasseri salad was fine, although the waiter forgot to bring out olive oil, lemon juice, and vinegar for a long while, so that we had already ravenously eaten through half the bowl. Oh, well. The tables on the patio didn't appear to be super clean, either, but there were also a lot of people hanging around playing backgammon and smoking. Not guidebook worthy, no, but a-ok by Bodrum standards.
