What a great first pig hunt! My pictures don't do this place Justice. There are a lot of pigs. We arrived on Saturday evening and were greeted by Allen. The whole staff here is friendly and ready to help. You have the option to shoot from a blind in the morning and afternoon or you can spot and stalk between both blind sessions. We were successful during both types of hunt. There are some good sized pigs here. I was able to take down a of that was about 130 lbs. There are bigger ones here. The sleeping quarters were great. The rooms are heated/ cooled and the showers worked great. There are 2 refrigerators, a stove and a fire pit. They provided sheets, pillow, blankets and towels. There was nothing to complain about during our visit. Thank you Dos Plumas Hunting Ranch for a great experience. We'll be back with more friends and eventually my kids.

Our crew was made up of 7 of us coming from all over the country, with many different levels of hunting experience. We used bows and riffles both. In a 2 day hunt we walked out with 14 hogs. Alan and crew were awesome and it was well worth it having the, skin and quarter the hogs. The accommodations were exactly what you'd expect from a bunch house. Don't expect fancy, expect comfortable and clean. Every hunt Alan stopped by to check in on us and his wife made us some fabulous cookies.
This is a top notch ranch if you're interested in a great hog hunt! A buddy and I spent a few days here and were easily able to limit out. Best part is there are no extra fees or last minute surprises. The staff are knowledgeable and fun! Lots of hogs on the ranch. Accommodations are simple but good. They have a great kitchen where you prep your own food and hang with the other hunters in camp. All in all a great experience. Already booked a hunt for next year! read more

Went Whitetail Hunting first time and absolutely delivered. Not only first time hunting Whitetail I got a Doe and Trophy Buck. Started hunting a few years ago and hired some Outfitters to help me and show me how to hunt. First one definitely recommend helped me a bunch didn't get anything saw what I wanted just not confident in myself at 350yards at the time. Second different story bad experience went to Quentin as hunted on his Property before for pigs and his wife Jordi said check this out thought about it and took the chance and absolutely don't regret it. Not only did I think I got a opportunity for 1 but I was able to get 3 which included a surprise I never expected: Definitely want to go back next year soooo fun read more

In my estimation, the ranch itself was as advertised; the accommodations were as expected, rustic, clean and more than adequate to our needs. Morning hunts were dismal, and a waste of time, but there were plenty of animals to shoot at in the evenings. The low score I have given is because I am so disappointed in Allen for not being more upfront with me about our crossbow hunting prospects, and especially for him being dishonest with me about why he "couldn't" (wouldn't) allow me to search for my last kill in the daylight. He began our trip by stressing his "respect" for the hogs ("They get a bad rap from the media", "don't shoot into a group", "don't shoot wet sows"), but when it comes to not leaving wounded or killed animals to rot in the field, he showed no respect for the animals or the hunters. I have never seen or heard anything like that from any warden, landowner, or hunter before this. My conclusion is that Allen is a hog farmer who only has respect for the profits of his business, and I, for one, will do all I can to warn others that this is no place for archers or real hunters. read more

This was not a good experience for my group of four. We got there at 6pm as the website said and and didn't hunt till 10am the next day. We didn't see any hugs during the day. He said to let him know if you want to shot a goat and I texted him from the stand with no response. I didn't see a hog during 4 hunts. There was always goats at the feeders. A couple of others in my group saw a hog at night but website didn't say we should bring night vision scopes as it was hard to see at night. Only little lights from flash light and feeders wasn't offered any compensation after spending almost 500 without seeing a hog. read more

A friend and I spent purchased a 3 day hunt. His brother cancelled on short notice so we paid for his hunt (read the cancellation policy) and shot his hogs. We ended up killing 9 hogs in 2 days, and came back a day early, which was just fine. General hunting experience is they put you on a stand from 6-10am, then from 3 to dark. You have to stay near the stand to avoid disturbing other hunters. Max is 8 hunters on the main grounds, which is about 350 acres, very reasonable. From 10 to 3, you are on your own and can spot and stalk or whatever. I enjoyed searching out pigs on my own during the day. Pluses: Bryce is a great guy, very hardworking. (Allen was on vacation this week) No trophy fees. They will butcher it for you for $25 or more depending on the size, or you can do it yourself. Accommodations are just fine for a hunting cabin. Also note: if you hit a wet sow, you'll pay extra. Hit and don't recover an animal, it counts as yours. You can purchase more pigs for $150/pig. They have a separate trophy area of maybe 350 acres. They trap and bring in pigs from other areas to keep the population at the right levels. I probably saw 20 pigs killed from the main area, one around 200 pounds, maybe 3 over 100, and the rest averaging around 75. I would recommend the hunt to others. After reading reviews of other places with high up-selling pressure and questionable ethics, we definitely made the right choice in Dos Plumas. read more

Me and My husband decided to do this hunt on a whim, and when I say whim I mean, Sitting in the garage on wed. night looking up hunts, seeing this one and realizing they had openings on Saturday and Sunday! Called Allen Thursday Afternoon paid a deposit and scurried to get our gear packed and rental car secured! We left AZ at about 8:30 am and had a 16 hour drive to Dos Plumas! we arrived about 12:30 am with a hunt start time at 5:30 am! Bryce had the bunkhouse ready for us alls we had to worry about was crawling into bed. In the morning we completed our payment went over rules and headed out! within 15 minutes of being dropped at the blind the hogs were in. The hogs are nicely sized and there is an abundance ! not one day that we were on the ranch did we go without seeing hogs. We will definitely be returning to hunt again and this time with our oldest boy in tow! Thank you Bryce and Allen for an great experience. read more

Worst hunting trip I have ever been on in my life!! I have killed many big game animals pronghorn, white tail deer and mule deer, elk, and numerous small game animals!! I have never had someone question my personal or hunting integrity until now!! Allen thinks that he can be smug and sly in the way he talks to someone, but the fact is I never found blood or saw a wounded hog and neither did Bryce or Mike Dos Plumas ranch hands. I know that I walked about 20 miles in two days looking for a hog that was never down!! Myself and two other hunters left no unturned bush or tree on the 50 acre pasture They don't even know how many or what type of hogs are in there trophy pasture with this I also found three dead decaying hogs while searching for any sign of an injured animal. I am not okay with this and I am not writing this to tear a mans business down but in hopes that he will make this right or make the changes so this never happens to any other hunter in the future!!! And a friendly business tip for you Allen is you should always address someone by "Mr,Mrs,miss, sir, ma'am and or by there name and never by the term "son" as it is not professional! Thank you for your time Clinton read more

5 star for sure couldn't have asked for a better experience. Went down with 3 of my buddies, seen tons of pigs, we each shot around the 200lb mark. Josh wasd our guide, he was great and did everything he could to help get us on pigs. A few of us paid to have Josh skin and quarter and another did his own. We were down January 7 to 9th 2020. Weather was nice. We stayed in the bunk house it was everything you needed just bring your own food. We are already planning another trip next January, can't wait to go down and do this again. I am in a wheelchair and they did everything they could to make my trip as enjoyable as possible, thanks again Josh for everything you did! You were a great guide and you helped make our trip a very memorable! read more

Me and my dad tagged out no problem got a Ram and 3 hogs! Brice is good down to earth guy that puts you in a good spots to get you. You will definitely have chances to get a shot. The afternoon hunts you're more likely to see more, just got to be patient even when it's getting Dark you will have a shot on them. Also the smaller hogs appear bigger through a scope or rangefinders so keep that in mind, give the little ones a chance to grow for bigger hogs down the road. The bunk house is clean plenty of space to accommodate you. I would definitely recommend the ranch to fulfill your hunting desires. read more

My son and I just got home yesterday from our first trip to Dos Plumas and we have all ready booked our next trip to Texas, next time taking my wife also. Brice was an amazing host/guide. He took us to some great places on the property, gave us tips on where the hogs would be, and was more than happy to take the time to answer any questions we had. The lodge was very comfortable and it accommodated us very well. We met some nice guys from other states and had a great time getting to know them. I cannot recommend Dos Plumas more highly. It was a fantastic adventure and we will return soon. read more

My son and I came there to have our first hog hunt. As soon as we got there they treated us like old friends that we haven't seen in a long time. The accommodations were great and very comfortable. When we got there they told us that hunting was tough due to the heat. It was the end of August and 95 - 100 deg out. They did everything they could to get us on hogs. Now I knew that if we were gonna be successful we were gonna have to work for them. We walked away with 4 hogs and my son's was huge. He got a 240 lb hog his first sit. Can't wait to go back. read more
