Immigration lines were short and everything was efficient, although we didn't check bags or fly OUT of this airport, so I can't comment on those aspects. The wifi worked well and the bathrooms were clean and plentiful. I also love the branding/art of the airport with the little car train, suitcase, and plane icons. The train station is just below the terminal, which is very convenient. We did have to wait a long time for the train, but that's on the train system and not the airport. Thankfully the station is covered from the rain! From the airport, it's a short and fairly cheap ride into Cologne. If you're coming to Germany, The Koln/Bonn airport is a great option.

In my case my cooling vest and ice packs. Security, TSA, Police all were called and after explaining what it was and showing a letter written and signed by my doctor explaining what it was and why it was needed, a few swipes and some tests and we were good to go. Hot tip: bring a doctors note for ADA medical devices etc. It just might get you out of a jam.

First: it is in the middle of nowhere, a taxi ride to the city is roughly 40 EUR, so you are really stuck here. Second: there is just one bistro serving sandwiches and snacks, they open late and close early regardless whether there is anyone in the waiting area. They run out of food during the open hours too and don't get anything until the next morning. So, if you are hungry - you might be out of luck and get nothing at all. Third: if you arrive late in the evening, there is no public transport and there might be no taxi. Your only option is ordering a taxi by the phone, but then you'll have to wait for 30-40 minutes. And it becomes a real problem in the winter as airport actually closes and lights go out when the last passenger either leaves the building or gets expelled by the "friendly" airport personnel. Unfortunately there is nothing positive to be said about this bus station pretending to be an airport.

The response was "it's winter season" and they would open 25 minutes later! Very interesting!

Nice, small terminal at FMO. Halfway between Münster and Osnabrück, directly on the A1 autobahn…read more(and the newly-opened autobahn exit). Parking is available in two parking structures directly across from the terminal, or ground parking in the more-distant long-term lots. The walk can be a bit long if the weather does not cooperate. Check-in is fast, but limited shopping/eating before security. There are 2 cafés (lower level at Arrivals, or upper level before security), as well as an overpriced restaurant overlooking the runway. There is a free outside observation deck adjacent to the restaurant. The gates have sufficient seating, but hardly any refreshments available. But in general, the waiting time will be short anyway. LH offers flights to FRA and MUC, other airlines often change/adapt their schedules and destinations. Air Berlin has a good presence as well. Many charter flights in the vacation season.
