From the very first ohone call we knew we were in good, genuine, knowledgeable, and passionate hands. We sent our boys for board and training (3 weeks total) and it was the best investment. We loved getting regular updates while the boys were away and we never once worried about how they were treated or if they were being loved and cared for while boarding. No complaints about our experience at all! Both our puppies and we as their owners were given all the tools we needed to continue to be successful once we were all back home after board and train.

The facility was top notch with clean tile lined indoor pens and two huge outdoor runs with shade, pools, toys, water, whatever pup could want. She was professional, asking all the right questions and requiring all the proper info, like vaccination history, emergency contacts etc. A FAR cry from the other facility we had used the two days prior out of necessity. They were "this your dog? Ok, see you when you get back". Nice folks but a completely unprofessional operation with cut rate facility's for the dogs. Standard wire pens attached to caged runs. No play areas and I suspect minimal contact with the dogs. How it rated 4 star is beyond me. Sweet Dreams was first class. Well, well done.

I'm so thankful to have found Stone Valley Pet Lodge!…read more We were in need of a place to board our 6-month-old puppy over the Thanksgiving holiday last year, so we decided to check out Stone Valley. I had looked at a few other places in and around the State College area, and ended up choosing Stone Valley for several reasons. I called and set up a time to check the place out before we decided to board there. The lodge seems pretty new and when we entered the lobby area, I noticed it was clean and well-kept (note: there are many cats on the property; just an FYI!). When we walked through the area where the dogs are kept, I noticed the runs were a decent size, which I liked. There are windows in that area so it is well-lit and spacious. The outdoor areas were also a nice size for the dogs to run around freely and play with other dogs, if you choose. I was looking to help socialize my pup with other dogs, so they paired her up with other puppies her size during outside time. The owner is very thoughtful in making sure to pair up your dog with other dogs that are compatible and well-behaved! The lodge is in a beautiful wooded area about 15-20 minutes from State College. They also board a variety of animals - horses, pigs, cats! The owner is very responsive and thorough in making sure you know what to bring with you. I was really nervous (and sad) about leaving my dog for the first time, but she was great with responding to my calls/emails checking in to see how my dog was doing every few days. They will also give medicine if needed. Our dog has been back 2 additional times since Thanksgiving and she has always done well with transitioning to and from the lodge. She seems to enjoy her time there and has gotten a chance to be around other dogs and animals. The staff and owner are all really nice and you can tell that they really love animals and do a great job caring for them while they are in their care.

They also were very good at calming this Dog Mom down. I was very nervous leaving my sweet girl with them, but I have to say, they were fantastic with her. I am hoping she opens up more and more with each visit. Communication on how she was doing all day was superb! Thank you so much, Camp Corgi!!

My family had a terrible and heartbreaking experience with Wolf Run Veterinary Clinic. My parents…read moretrusted them to board our family dog, Bodhi, while we were out of town for my wedding because he is a patient there and requires insulin injections twice a day. The night of my rehearsal dinner, my mom received a call that completely ruined what should have been a special weekend. We were told that a vet tech gave Bodhi 80 units of insulin instead of 8 units. This is an extremely dangerous mistake, especially for a 22-pound dog. I spent the night before my wedding unable to sleep, terrified about whether he would be okay. Bodhi then had to spend the next two nights on IVs and under monitoring. When my parents were finally able to pick him up, he was covered in pee and poop, had sores from licking, and still had the catheter in his leg. The woman who handed him over said she had never removed one before but could "give it a try." Four days later, Bodhi is still suffering from bloody diarrhea and shaking day and night. What happened was careless, traumatic, and completely unacceptable. Please think twice before boarding your pet here or trusting them with medical care. There are other options in the area, and I wish we had read the reviews more carefully before trusting them with our dog.

Great practice and I've referred many Serious Pet Owners to Dr. Kocher…read more She took very good care of my senior Shih Tzu, Peppi during his advanced years and she listened to what I had to say of his symptoms, and she was very honest and ethical and did diagnostics such as bloodwork and X rays and prescribed heart pills accordingly. She never once tried to take me over in more than the needed diagnostics at all but did state there are additional options such as ultrasound and others if I was open to it which I was not. She never pressured me for more than what was needed to make a solid diagnoses however did let me know other diagnostics were available. She really cared about Peppi and understood he was my family. On two occasions she or Dr. Blizzard 'made time' for me when Peppi needed in same day due to being old and having heart problems which most all very old little doggies get if they live long enough. Dr. Kocher always explained everything of what was going on with him and she explained what happens in very old dogs with congestive heart and heart valve problems. She put the stethoscope right in my ears and had me listen to his heart beat which even I without any medical training could tell was bad but then explained why the valves weren't beating his heart right and after the blood work and x ray came back went over the blood work and showed me the enlargement of his heart on the x ray. She prescribed appropriate medications and her med fees are in line with all the other vets in the centre region and she didn't take me in this area. Her staff is so nice and very intelligent. These people cared about my dog and I was with State College Veterinary hospital for about 5 years as I moved here with my dog Peppi . Peppi had great care and I was treated very, very well. I like a one or two vet practice myself as the vet or vets know my dog and I'm not just a chart for a vet at a large multi vet practice. At a large multi vet practice and they do a great job also but really, I want the same vet or two vets only as I think the benefit to the animal is better in a one or two vet practice. The costs are in line with all other vet practices in the centre region. It's a small two vet practice which is a bonus for me, she isn't afraid to explain anything that's going on in common language, she will, or Dr. Blizzard, if really need be make time for a senior dog needing to be seen same day. I recommend this practice highly. If you are a Serious Pet Owner and care about the health and welfare of your pet this is the place for you.
