    This is my second time using Dora's Housecleaning and second time completely happy with the excellent service I received initial estimate with Seth. He was very professional and kind and answered all my questions and that in 2 different employees came out both times and were equally professional and worked hard which I appreciated, leaving me with immaculate home!! if you're a baker or you use your oven a lot, you will appreciate the clean oven I pictured!! . I will now make a July appointment making it my third thank you so much Dora and Maria for your hard work today!!

    PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS SERVICE. They are not honest, not professional, the owner has an excuse for everything, is a gas lighter, and cleaning was not as promised. The worst is the lack of accountability. Let me start off by saying I love to support small businesses and will do everything possible to avoid posting a negative review. However, this time I have to post one. I hired them to do a move-in deep cleaning of one of my properties to be rented out. I appreciated Shirley's walk-through prior to the cleaning. She seemed thorough and kind. Her two person team were not thorough in their cleaning even after I discussed what needed to be done with the owner Shirley and then with the two ladies who arrived. After the ladies said they were finished and wanted me to check, there were still a lot of items missed including baseboards, floors, doors, an entire closet, laundry room, stairs and corners on the staircase, cabinets and drawers. While they were correcting areas missed, the same company's carpet cleaner arrived. As I was outside greeting him I see in my peripheral the two ladies leaving and loading up their truck. I thought no way would they leaving without a final walk through. I asked them if everything was completed, they said yes. After inspecting the property, I found that many items had been missed. What was most frustrating, however, was that the specific tasks I had asked them to address--after initially reviewing their work--were still not completed. I reached out to the owner, Shirley, who offered me a $25 discount on the $475 charge. Given the circumstances, I felt this was inadequate. At the time, I was completely exhausted from moving out of a 2,300-square-foot home into an 800-square-foot condo. I had spent days purging, selling furniture, packing, and managing the move, all while extremely sleep-deprived and sick. By the time I returned to the property that day, I had already been there for over 12 hours and was running on fumes. When I returned to the property the following morning, fully rested, I began taking photos to document its condition before the tenants moved in. That's when I noticed several deep scratches on my brand new Whirlpool microwave--damage that had not been there previously. I immediately brought this to Shirley's attention. To my surprise, she claimed she had noticed the scratches during her walk-through. Even more frustrating, she dismissed the damage as "minor." Her response was both unprofessional and unacceptable. Rather than taking responsibility, she downplayed the issue and tried to shift the blame onto me. I found this dishonest and extremely upsetting--accountability is essential, and I expected better. When I responded, it seems she allegedly blocked communication. The message populated red error messages. It gave me the option to send as SMS text message so I did. It seemed to go through. This response from a business owner is extremely childish and not a response I would expect from a business who works with the public. I would have expected more professionalism. My goal was to discuss as adults and come up upon a reasonable resolution. Also, I noticed when arriving back to the property the following morning that their carpet cleaner left huge orange stains from the top of my driveway all the way down to the bottom from the product used to clean carpets with. They will not come out. I left the prior evening at 8:00 PM when it was dark and didn't see it. I am very timely in paying people for services performed and did not want to hold it up so I paid the day of service prior to noticing all the discrepancies. I have opened a dispute with Venmo and will seek litigation for compensation. I paid a service good money to come into my home to NOT CLEAN thoroughly and DAMAGE my property. Would never ever hire them again. Please take into consideration the one, two and three stars very seriously on here. I wish I had. Please see pictures. I'm trying to place them in order however Yelp rearranges them after posting. 5/6/25 Response to Reply: Shirley is untruthful. Proof is in pictures. I've attached screenshots of what Shirley referred to as me being demanding. Our messages were pleasant. I was sick, however because I wasn't able to reschedule I kept the appt. There was no issue with this as Shirley's aware and text messages show. Her staff was scheduled to arrive at 10:30 AM. I was getting moving boxes nearby. My outdoor cameras alerted at 10:10 AM. I spoke to them through the camera letting them know I was down the street and would be at the house in a few mins, they said no problem. Also called Shirley. Accountability. I have never been in trouble with the IRS lol. Instead of simply taking accountability she would prefer to make up stories. Can't believe someone like this is in business with the public. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Can't argue facts. I was able to locate a picture of my appliances before cleaning, no damage.

    Reply to Shirley: 1st, I am David, husband to Bill. You can tell this by the name on my Yelp account. 2nd, we did point out to your team the things we noticed before they left, but the bulk was noticed after they had left. But given that you are a cleaning company, I would not expect to have to inform your team how to do their job, I'd think that would be your job as their employer. 3rd, you continue to say we got your regular cleaning, and if that is true, you should, then, understand why we declined your offer to return. --- We wanted to have a deep clean done to our home as we have some relatives coming to stay with us this week. Given the mostly positive reviews on this site, I had high hopes for a good experience with Dora's. The initial walkthrough for the deep clean estimate went well as the representative sent out really appeared to listen to our needs, asking questions and taking pictures as he went through the house with my husband. He indicated that the information gathered regarding what we really wanted to make sure they cleaned and not just dusted, such as the vinyl plank flooring, kitchen cabinets, baseboards, doors, blinds, would be shared with their cleaning team, along with the pictures he took, so that the job would be done to our satisfaction. Unfortunately, those hopes were dashed in the end given the mediocre job that was done. If you've ever been to a diner where the waitress wipes off your table with a dirty rag, that's the level of clean we were left with when all was said and done. My vinyl plank floors have a sticky film you can feel when walking on them. Baseboards throughout the house are left mostly unclean. Kitchen cabinets, especially around the stove, are still dirty or greasy. Shower walls were left with water spots that came clean once I wiped them down. The stove backsplash was smeared with grease until I later cleaned them; and the kitchen countertops were only given a cursory clean where nothing was moved to clean behind small appliances. The kitchen refrigerator had the exterior cleaned but the interior untouched. Some ceiling fans were cleaned while others were not touched. One corner in the dining room had items that were as dusty after they left as before they had arrived; and the floors and baseboards around the items had not been cleaned at all. Items such as glass containers for cotton pads and Q-tips were "cleaned" on top but then the sides were left untouched. Floor rugs were not moved to clean the flooring underneath, but rather cleaned around. Blinds in the kitchen, which were specifically called out to the rep during the initial quote visit, were not properly cleaned and were left with their vertical strings all askew. Some window sills were cleaned while others were not touched. In addition to the perfunctory cleaning job, many items were not put back in place or were completely rearranged. Somme pictures that were level before they entered our home were left askew. One small item was found broken after being put on alert when one of the ladies indicated, without prompting, that they had not broken anything. A bathroom rug was ruined with bleach which they also did not indicate until it was pointed out to them before they left. Their job upstairs, where they first started, though certainly still lacking, seemed better than when they moved downstairs. It appeared they just wanted to go through the motions to get the job done without making sure things were really clean. Several times items they cleaned had to be pointed out to them as not being clean. All of these issues were reported through both text, pictures, and a voice call to the manager/owner, Shirley, who, after seeing the pictures, conceded with our assessment of a job poorly done or not done at all. Outside of offering to pay for a replacement bathroom rug, she offered to have her crew come out again, which clearly wasn't a resolution we would want given the shoddy result the first time; as well as the timing of our relatives' visit. Her only offer after I declined the revisit, in addition to the rug reimbursement, was to drop the price from a deep clean to a regular clean, with the problem being that even a regular clean was not provided to me; and refunding the tip paid to her crew. But then she found out from her mother, Dora, that she could not refund the tip since it was paid directly to the 2 ladies who performed the job. When asked to then remove that amount from her fee, which would be more appropriate anyway, she refused. To me, that exemplifies who Shirley is, an owner willing to take money from her employees, but not from herself, to make things right for a customer. My mother has always held to the adage that if you want something done right, you should do it yourself. I've always thought people, especially professional people, deserve the benefit of the doubt. When it comes to Dora's House Cleaning, however, I was shown that mother knows best.
