Massive cake donut, so yummy!
Lisa L.

The best donuts in Hillboro! Always good, wide selection. Massive cake donut, so soft, plush, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

If you look closely it kind of looks like the Millennium Falcon.

Ummm...it has been a long time since I have reviewed Donut Day. Possibly the reason is because the family has moved out to Beaverton...we don't double back towards Aloha very much any more. While their Donuts are amazing it is kinda good that I live a decent distance away. It could get addicting...very quickly. Anyway I went into work the other day, and my Pharmacist on duty, came over to my station and said, "I got you an apple fritter from Donut Day." She obviously knew that this was my favorite, basically because I talk about it all the time. So I thanked her, put it to the side and kept working wondering what she got everyone else. So on lunch, I had, yes, an apple fritter. Mind you this thing could feed three normal humans, however pharmacy work requires more carbs than you could imagine. I ate the WHOLE THING, and I washed it down with a Diet Coke. Not the healthiest of lunches, but it powered me for the rest of my shift. The next day I discovered that other workers did not get one. I think they might have been a little jealous/upset, but I let it go. Pharmacists are known for being quite attentive to their surroundings. Hope to make a personal visit to Donut Day soon... P.S. Congrats on being named #73 on YELPs Top 100 Best Donut Shops in the USA. I would have put you at least Top 50.

Donut holes and assorted 1/2 dozen Donuts
Iris L.

I was having some cravings for donuts and particularly the raspberry jam filled ones and glazed donuts. It was our first time here and it's a very cute place and it's still open while undergoing renovation. New parking lot however inside is being renovated. We were greeted by a very lovely young lady and maybe she's also the owner? She let us sample the donut holes (those smaller pieces) to try glaze vs cake and that was so kind of her. We fell in love with how fresh and delicious the donuts were and bought a 1/2 dozen. I was in love with their glaze donut and it tasted so fresh and soft and got to say, was quite addicting. The chocolate and regular glazed ones were the best. Tried the blueberry jam and raspberry jam filled and it was no longer my craving. It switched to the glaze ones!! Donut holes are a good option for those that just want to snack and not over overdo! The lady was so kind she gifted us a bag the donut holes! Great first time experience!

Saturday 9/23/23 I found this spot through Yelp while looking for the best donuts in Portland. Their menu had a variety of different fruit fritters that I had never seen before and I had to try them. I spent 24$ on a dozen of donuts for the house: half dozen fancy donuts (cinnamon roll, apple fritter, cookies n cream donut, pineapple fritter, blueberry fritter, and raspberry fritter) for $16 and 4 regular donuts (2 glazed, 1 coconut stuffed, and 1 coconut regular) for $8. The different kinds of fruit fritters were all very unique and very good; my favorites were the pineapple fritter and apple fritter. The cinnamon roll ended up being pretty decent and was even better when microwaved back at home. The cookies n cream donut was good and unqiue: it came with a chocolate cake/donut base and great toppings design for a good taste. The glazed donut was solid. All in all, this was definitely my favorite donut spot I went to while in Portland and it's not even close. I would recommend for others to come enjoy these great donuts and I would definitely return if possible. I am definitely glad Yelp sent me here!

This location of Donut Day in Aloha is old school. They don't have a website or social media. But stop by in person and you'll be pleased with the variety of classic donuts they offer and the friendliness of the customer service. They've got a small parking lot off the busy road. The interior has a decent amount of seating but it's not fancy. You'll probably want to get the donuts to go. As of yesterday, a dozen is $17.50, two dozen is $32. Each donut is $2 unless you're getting a "fancy" one and then it's $3. Seems like reasonable pricing to me. I got an assortment and enjoyed everything. They've got so many donut types here it could take a while to find your favorites. What a difficult task! ;)

Great hospitality and delicious donuts. This is the family's go to spot in Hillsboro. We love coming here and trying out many donuts! A little construction for the parking area but they are fully operational!!

Yummy donut shop we came across while visiting Oregon! Our favorite was the blueberry old fashioned donut. The donuts were unique because they were fried to a crisp crunch.

The best donuts around! Bavarian cream, raspberry and lemon filled squishiness!

Had to stop and grab a few donuts from our local favorite spot today! Strawberry cheesecake, Dutch crunch Apple fritter, Dutch crunch lemon filled me cinnamon twist. These are always so squishy and delicious!

apple fritter sans bite, Boston cream, raspberry jelly!

I don't eat donuts more than 2-3 times per year so when I do, I am picky! After reading reviews, I decided to try Donut Day. It was great! Their selection is unbelievable. They must have at least 60 types of donuts. In fact, after I ordered, I spotted a section to the right I hadn't even looked at! In general, Donut Day's donuts are not greasy at ALL and just the right amount of sweetness. I chose the apple fritter and the Boston Cream. My husband had the maple bar and standard jelly. My Boston may be the best I have ever had, excellent amount of cream, and chocolate icing was not too sweet. The apple fritter could have used more or bigger apple pieces. Also, not enough craggy, crunchy, bumpy places is why I like fritters. Tasted good though! Hubs enjoyed his donuts, nothing special to report here. Owners are efficient and attentive. Added bonus: nice customers! I forgot to order my husband's coffee after the next customer had already stepped up. The couple graciously let me butt in and the owner accommodated me without fuss. Thank you, mystery customers and kind owners! I started to give 4 stars because of the slightly less-than-perfect fritter but shoot, that isn't right! I only think that takes them down maybe 1/3 of a star. Five stars it is! I will be back!

Just wanted to share a bad experience with this place. This morning I went to La Espiga Dorada…read moreBakery to pick up some canned beans and cream for breakfast. When I got home I started cooking the beans and noticed there was a foul smell. I proceeded to cook the beans and I was making the rest of our breakfast when I noticed they started smelling more. I honestly thought I was going crazy so I tasted them and OMG it was horrible. It tasted like sour milk. At this point I'm upset because I've spent $12.00 on literally 2 items ($6.50 for the canned beans and $5.50 for the cream). I'm not one to complain, I would've let this go but I'm out $6.50 for CANNED BEANS and my kids were looking forward to this. So I call the bakery and explain the situation, tell them exactly how it happened and I asked if I could have a refund or get a new can. They asked if they were expired and I said no (see pic) and the lady puts me on hold. She comes back and said her boss told her they can't do anything about it because I already cooked them and I should've taken them in as soon as I noticed something. I explain again that when I opened the can they looked fine, it wasn't until I started cooking them that I noticed the smell. She placed me on hold again, this time for almost 5 minutes and said that I can only get a partial refund and said I should've taken them, AGAIN. I told her I still have the can, the beans are still in the pot, I can take them like that if they want, at this point I just want my money back. Plus, what's the point of me taking them back after I opened them, were they just gonna put it back on the shelf?! Anyway, she puts me on hold again, comes back and tells me the same thing and said her boss told her that winco, Fred Meyer, and Walmart would've done the same thing (?!??!?!!!) I asked to speak with her boss she said she's not available and that I can't!! After a bunch of back and forth she finally agreed to give me a refund. I'm just so upset that I had to go through all this, get riled up, just to get my $6.50 for a can of rotten beans. This should've been handled better. We literally just spent over $30 on their bread this week for thanksgiving and this is how they treat their customers?! I won't be going back here after this experience.

This farmers market is a little less hectic I'd say, and I dig it!…read more Nestled in a square parking lot, next to a few small businesses and a New Seasons, is the Orenco Farmers Market. Many times I've seen it and many times I've avoided it. But now I regret not checking it out the first time they opened up a few years ago. Here's a few tips and details: * Parking * Most folks park in the New Seasons parking lot, or down the residential streets. The times I've been here, the lot has never been full. So I've never had any issue finding parking. * Favorite Vendors * ~ The Pie Guy - out of North Plains. If you yelp that, you'll see why he's different. Love their variety of pies. ~ Pilgrim's Roasted Nut'z - Another North Plains favorite! You can literally go nuts buying more than one bag. ~ Kookido - UGH, mochi-filled cookies! I'm a mochi lover and chewy soft cookie kind of guy. These are heaven in a container! ~ Pablo Munoz Fruits - I'm all about their peaches and berries! ~ Martinez Family Farms - Come here early for these guys. They always have a long line to pay. ~ Favorite Produce - I dig their fresh flower bouquets. ~ Helvetia Vineyards & Winery - Another local wine favorite. Try a sample! ~ Baird Family Orchards - mmm mmm, gotta love them peaches! Especially their Sweet Sue yellow peaches. ~ Our Little Farm and Nursery - Haven't bought anything from these guys, but they're the ones that freshly roast peppers. People love'em! ~ Slow Rise Bakehouse - Located out of Forest Grove. Check out my ROTD for them ;) ~ Thompson Farms - The "pear guy"! He's picking bosc pears soon. I cannot wait! ~ Papa's Sunflower Seeds - Flavored roasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. These are the guys that do team fundraising. ~ Ochoas Catering & Events - Necessito burrito! They wrap up fat burritos (and more) and their salsas are simply el mejor! For the most part, if it's a hot summer day, the market can close a bit early due to excessive heat. I've yet to go here on a rainy day. But in closing for my next visit, I'm trying the pasta lady, the hot sauce guy, and the fresh mini donuts. Oh and the mouthful momo stand. Support your locals folks!

It's a good opportunity to support local and small. Parking wasn't an issue as there is desinated parking areas in apartment lots in front of the market. My favorite part was the local food vendors! We grabbed momos (delicious), tacos (best tacos in Oregon in my opinion), and hummus. HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEKEND! S/O to Ochoa Catering and Events and Hummus Spot for putting my partner and I in our taco and hummus era. The service from these vendors were great and it was fun chatting about how their business started. Orenco Station - Hillsboro market is laid back and a good break from the hustle and bustle of city life. We will be back!

A Ramen Masterclass in Beaverton! If you are looking for…read morethat perfect, soul-warming bowl of noodles, Koku Ramen & Bites in Beaverton is an absolute gem. It's located in the Timberland Town Center and manages to perfectly balance a modern, trendy vibe with authentic, traditional flavors. Here is why it's a 5-star standout for me: The Broth (The Soul of the Bowl): I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, and the broth was incredible--creamy, rich, and clearly simmered for hours. It has that deep, milky consistency that only comes from true craft. If you like heat, the Spicy Miso has a perfect, layered kick that doesn't just overpower your taste buds. The Noodles: They get the texture exactly right. You can choose your firmness, and they have that perfect "chew" that holds onto the broth beautifully. The "Bites": True to their name, the appetizers (bites) are not to be skipped. The Pork Gyoza are perfectly seared, but the Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) is the real winner--juicy on the inside and impossibly crunchy on the outside. The Chashu: The braised pork belly is melt-in-your-mouth tender. They give it a quick torch sear before serving, which adds a beautiful smoky aroma to the whole bowl. The Vibe: The restaurant is clean, sleek, and has a great energy. The staff is welcoming and incredibly fast, making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch or a cozy dinner. Pro Tip: Don't forget to add a Marinated Soft-Boiled Egg (Ajitama). They cook them to perfection here with that jammy, custard-like yolk that takes the ramen to the next level. Beaverton has a lot of food options, but Koku is easily at the top of my list for comfort food. I'll be back again and again!
