History
Established in 2008.
Donte’s Den is the realization of a long-time dream of Founder Marsha Panuce and her late husband Don. Named for the couple’s beloved standard Schnauzer, Donte, Donte’s Den has been thoughtfully designed to be a continuation of home for canines who need it.
Meet the Business Owner: Marsha P.
At Donte’s Den, family means everything. Years ago, my late husband, Don, and I worried about our dogs' future when we could no longer care for them. Since our pups are such a big part of our hearts, we envisioned a loving sanctuary for them, leading to the founding of Donte’s Den, named after our beloved standard Schnauzer.
Our mission is to care for homeless dogs as we would for Donte. Many come to us due to the loss of their owner, transitions to care facilities, or military deployments. We also provide temporary shelter for abandoned dogs while we help them find forever homes. Each dog receives excellent medical care and loving attention on our 50-acre sanctuary in Myakka City, Florida—a perfect haven for dogs to play, run, and swim.
