I purchased a Moomba surf boat from Victory Marine in 2021. It was quickly apparent that the boat…read morewas improperly prepared by the technicians at Victory. The decal letters on the side of the boat quickly came off due to improper adhesive work and had to be replaced. Plastic vent inserts were improperly installed and had to be repaired. This past season, we entrusted Victory Marine to store our boat for the winter. Without our permission, the staff at Victory pulled our boat from storage and displayed it at their boat show. Our boat was returned to us with damage to the hull and trailer, and Victory assumed no responsibility. We also received our boat with two dead batteries, which is the second year in a row this has happened. These infractions resulted in a better business bureau claim, during which Victory claimed that I gave them permission to show the boat, which is an outright lie. In addition, we had multiple warranty issues that needed to be repaired this season. When I went to pick up my boat, Victory staff stated that all repairs had taken place. However, it was only after I inspected the boat closer that I discovered several items that had not been taken care of. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they told me those items were not covered. If you're in the market for a new boat, do your homework. A warranty is only as good as the company providing the service and the manufacturer providing the support. I will never do business with Victory Marine again.

Tim went out of his way to give great customer service. We appreciated his amazing follow up.read more

I specifically told him if he wasn't going to work on it I would keep it in the garage until he was ready so it didn't have to sit outside! Called 13 days later and left a message to call me back with no response. He finally called my insurance agent back after they called and left a message, told them hadn't started on it but 2 others ahead of mine. Agent gave 10 days and called again, still hadn't started on it. I drove to check on boat 4 days later and almost cried with condition boat was in, tarp half off, wet leaves and sticks in boat, water soaked, tarp had water sitting in it obviously for days because it was soaked through to carpet and motor in pieces, didn't even know where my prop was for sure. Said it would be done next day, didn't get it back for 4 more days and tells me not his fault condition of boat, probably came like that. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I've spent about five hours trying to get boat back to condition I took it there in, and still not done. He seems knowledgable and a competent mechanic but will not take my boat back there again after being without for over a month and the poor condition it came back in, hope I get it cleaned up and don't lose to much value because of someones negligence to take care of something entrusted to their business.

They guys at CarSwap checked me out & determined the problem, but did not have the parts to get me going. They called all over the area to find someone who could help. The sent me over to Riverview Chevrolet as they were told they had some parts to help. Allison assured me right away that they would check everything over & see what they could do. She also offered me one of their vehicles to drive right away. I was too upset to take her up on it, so just went on a long walk. Chuck, one of their service techs, offered to check out my vehicle even though I had no appointment & he had other work to do. He was very thorough, & came up with a list of items that needed to be addressed--well over what the vehicle was worth. He even showed me what was wrong under the truck & showed me how it was very unsafe to drive it. He offered to fix the items that would get me home as safe as possible, for the least amount, as I would never be driving that truck again. They even threw in a free tire as one of mine was "out of round"!! Their kindness was just overwhelming!!! Later, Allison even insisted I go for lunch & get in some sales with their vehicle so that my entire day wasn't just used up in the mechanics shop!! Yes, it was a large bill, but they didn't have to add me to their list of repairs, & Chuck even worked through his lunch to put me back on the road sooner!! They went out of their way to give me the best customer service , as quickly as possible for as little cost as possible!! I am forever grateful!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plenty of room to fish, and listen to music. The carpet was super wet, not sure how that happened but everything did get soaked on the floor. But, we couldn't complain to much. Even with cloudy weather we had a great time and kept the boat all day. Drop off and pick up were easy peezy. We'll definitely continue to use LFR for our summer and fall trips up north.

After renting the "top of the line" 2007 tritoon from Lakeside Fun Rentals August 2024, along with a tube/rope for a day of family fun on the lake, we were horrified by the lack of cleanliness and upkeep on the boat, the musty/moldy (and not close to sufficient for the listed passenger count) life jackets, and the lack of a safety flag-- which the company said was unnecessary because it was "not legally required in the state of South Dakota". These red flags should have been enough to warn us away, but with no way to get our money back for the full day's rental at that point, we decided to make the best of it, get our own life jackets, and make a day of it. My husband is someone whose professions leads him to see the outcomes of emergencies regularly and is one of the most overly cautious folks you will ever meet with our children's health and safety because he's witnessed time again what careless or reckless behavior can lead to. In spite of all safety measures imaginable in place, after a few short hours on this boat, our 17-year-old son was nearly taken out by the metal piece of the boat which holds the rope to the boat careening back at him, nearly missing his head. This mechanical disaster obviously cut our day at the lake short. Even the gentleman who came to pickup the boat remarked that the mechanical error was truly alarming and that we were lucky no one had been injured. To be clear-- our family has been regularly boating for decades-- mainly on our family's Malibu in Idaho-- but also in many rentals at many lakes over the years. We know our way around boats and what how they should work and be treated. This experience stands apart as beyond alarming and truly dangerous from beginning to end. After leaving a FB comment (after having nearly two dozen calls ignored over two weeks and having a promise from the employee who dropped off and picked up the boat to have the manager reach out to us right away also fail), we spoke to the owner, Scott, this afternoon- 19 days after the incident. Scott insisted that the mechanical error was due to "gross negligence" and "dangerous behavior" on our part likely caused by "flooring the boat" (frankly impossible due to the very low horsepower in the boat... but we digress.) Scott stated that in addition to not refunding us for the portion of the full day rental we paid for but were unable to enjoy due to the gross mechanical error, he also fully intends to keep our $500 deposit. Actually. Scott was disrespectful, dismissive and unfortunately exactly what you would expect from the owner of the company whose boat nearly did a great deal of harm, or worse, to someone we love. PLEASE beware and spread the word when considering supporting this business. We love supporting small local businesses and realize how important doing so is to our local economy-- but we warn against supporting companies like this whose products are dangerously out of repair, moldy, and without proper safety equipment, and whose ownership do not take ownership when things go wrong. We are earnestly hoping that this review will help others avoid a similar or much worse outcome and also that it might encourage the company ownership to do better for their customers and community going forward.

We had a little mishap with our camper rubbing a curb stop at a gas station. We thought the damage was merely cosmetic. However, a few hours down the road, we had a tire blowout. We called roadside assistance, got the tired exchanged, new tire put on, and back on the road again to our first stop in Sioux Falls, SD. Next morning, we get on the road again, only to blowout the same tire!! At this point, we realized something more was wrong. Luckily for us, we were only a mile east from the exit for a very small town in SD called Kimball. While we were waiting for roadside assistance to arrive, a nice gentleman driving a van that advertised Overweg Repair stopped to see if we needed any assistance. We assured him we had assistance on the way, but thanked him for stopping to check on us. His shirt said his name was Dan. We later discovered he was the owner of Overweg Repair. When we realized that our front axle was most likely bent, we knew our journey could not continue until it was repaired. We limped into a little parking lot-like campground in Kimball called Parkway Campground, and gave Overweg Repair a call. Troy from there came to where we were, took a look at the camper and confirmed we needed a new axle. He went back to shop to see if he had what he needed to replace it. He called within an hour to see if we could come at 8am the next morning to get the work done. We were ecstatic! They did the repairs and had us back on the road before noon!! We couldn't believe it. We were so worried it would take days having to wait for parts to arrive. And the cost was extremely reasonable. Thanks to the team at Overweg, we were able to get back on the road quickly and continue our cross country journey vacation. We are so grateful. We would like to thank Troy, Corinne, and Tanya for all their assistance. They were awesome!
