Out of the many camping sites we sampled before arriving here I feel I am able to give a just…read morereview. Initially I didn't put this place at the top of my list, it is pretty much on the middle of no where and the booklet only rated it 3 stars. However I believe it warrants a strong 4. There is no road noise, none whatsoever. You hear the birds and your neighbours, and that's it. There is only one toilet block which has the chemical toilet, showers, toilets and the laundrette. There is a motor home service point around the side of the complex and each neat plot has a point for electrics. There were high hedges giving you privacy and shelter from the elements. There is an outdoor pool, although as out of season when I visited it was looking rather green. A games 'tent' with table tennis, füßball and air hockey. A small grocery shop where you can order pastries and bread for the next morning, a bar; and a snack bar which serves very tourist orientated food, hamburgers and chicken nuggets etc. The only gripe is that we asked for well cooked steaks and they were more on the side of rare, I know that the French tend to prefer things this way but it was taken down with the order and apparently the chef understands English. The proprietors Isabelle and Jacque speak relatively good English and went above and beyond for us. We needed to have our dog checked by a vet before we'd be allowed back on the Eurotunnel. Isabelle not only found us a vet that was open on the Monday (apparently part of some national holiday) but called and booked in for us as well. I would thoroughly recommend this site and would stay here again.

Where do I start? We…read morechose this site from our booklet as It was rated 4 stars seemed to have the faculties that we wanted etc. honestly? I think the rating system is made up. I know that French have different toilet systems, but wow. Every time I opened a cubicle door I was faced with a different toilet. From the very traditional 'squatting style' to the more western style to something between where you have to sort of balance yourself on a large toilet bowl so as not to fall in as there is no seat. There were 2 sanitary facilities open when I was there, the first is like someone built a load of cubicles in the middle of a field and then thought that walls were unnecessary but stuck a roof on it. This made for a very draughty experience. They also saw it bit to have a sink for washing clothes, a sink for washing utensils and even a sink for washing oysters; yes just oysters. But walls were unnecessary! The worst part of this entire 'complex' is that the men's urinals are just there on view of some poor souls camping pitch. Enjoying a bbq? Well if you glance up there are the urinals not even hidden around the side! No, No they are next to what we deduced as the motor home waste water drain. Completely bizarre and I think even by European standards a bit embarrassing. After some reconnaissance I found another shower building near the reception that was heated it was again shared but after the horror of what I had described I wasn't that bothered quite frankly. Fair dues I remembered to pack my flip flops and it was a completely tiled shower unit so my shoes didn't get wet like they have in others. The pool was open air and I believe available. There was a receptionist in the day who was helpful. The bar was not open when we were there but was apparently supposed to be. The pitches were also rammed in so closely together I would dread to think what it would be like in the summer in high season. There are chalets that can be rented also. I will not be staying here again.
