One of the nicest most compassionate doctor I've ever known!…read moreI've been a patient there for many years. Dr Soin is excellent at what he does. My back always feels better afterwards. He's kept me out of surgery! I totally trust him!! Very nice staff also!

I might go higher on this review but kinda want to see what happens. What happens you ask? Well, I…read morewent in to learn about spinal injections as I have a several issues that are causing back pain. Apparently the main culprit is my sciatica which enjoys reeking havoc on my body by sending spasms and then causing numbness in my legs. It's pretty bad when you can't bend down, rise from a laying position, and more. I equate the sensation to a turtle on its back desperately trying to flip over and free thy self. Yes, it's kinda comical if you saw the process in the morning with screaming as my back shoots electrical currents rampantly with each movement as I try to remove myself from the mattress. The past treatments have included chiropractic, yoga, and physical therapy which just made it worse or did nothing. Dr. Soin came in after five minutes of sitting in the waiting room you see pictured to explain what was happening. He seemed pretty passionate and sure about the diagnosis and process to getting me back to a more lumbar state. I asked him to clarify my MRI which he did. I was kinda hoping he would throw some images up on that lightboard, but instead he verbally reviewed the injection process in which I asked for more than a Valium to perform as the last SI had me howl in pain and fearful I would move causing permanent damage. So sedation is the ideal scenario in which he will inject me with a steroid to stop that inflamed nerve from it's temper tantrum. In all, he was in the room for less than seven minutes and walked me to the scheduling department to arrange. Since I already know about the process, I didn't have too many questions. It's definitely time for me as I am over the pain and want my mobility back. My goal is to receive an insurance confirmation in the next few weeks that this is greenlighted. This is why I am sitting on four stars as I want to see if the staff can get me approved, scheduled, and then done with success. Until then, I remain in my turtle state. Save the turtle.

A couple of years ago I suffered a back injury from an industrial accident. I took myself to the…read moreER, and what ensued was more than a year of specialists and doctors and hospital visits. My pain branched out to my entire right leg, parts of my left leg, my whole back, my neck, head and arms. In detail I saw a series of 3 orthopedic doctors, 2 neurologists, 2 neurosurgeons, 2 pain management doctors, and had 3 ER visits; all for my back pain. My entire back was imaged via X-ray and MRI. I was scanned from cranium to pelvis. Nothing was reported that even began to explain my problems. Nada. Zip... And so my diagnosis was ever changing between doctors. I was told I had anyhing that seemed to stick: Fibromyalgia, Pain Amplification Syndrome, Myofascial Pain and Disorder, Stretched Nerves, Degenerative Disc Disease, Depression Induced Pain, etc etc etc. With "diagnosis" in hand, I went through an accumulated total of 3 months of physical therapy, prescribed rest, acupuncture, dry needling, regimented stretching, chiropractic treatments, trigger point injections and massage, active release therapy, massage, TENS units, and a litany of medication. Every doctor I saw eventually gave up, stopped returning my calls, or offered me a handful of pills to shut me up. I am young, and I thought I would have to start collecting disability and live on pain meds. My back hurt all over, there was hardly anything I could do anymore. Sitting was painful, driving was unbearable, standing was far worse, and a good night's sleep was a fleeting memory. My leg hurt just like sciatica, starting first in the foot and working its way up. It would go into painful spasms and twitch, sending waves of pain all over my body. I developed neck pain and headaches, pain that radiated down my arms and numbed my fingers, and my heart began to have issues from all of the stress and lack of sleep. My hair was turning grey or falling out. My personal relationships suffered immensely. I couldn't live like that anymore, and seeing as how my other doctors were not helping me, I decided to try Prolotherapy. I was in luck because Dr. Parikh's office was relatively close to me. I visited Dr. Parikh's office in April of 2016 for my first session of Prolotherapy. I had done my research on Prolotherapy, and was already at ease with my decision because of the excellent communication I had with the doctor via Email prior to committing. Before treatment he did a very thorough exam, far more thorough than my initial evaluations with all the other doctors. Also, knowing that the doctor underwent this treatment himself and benefited from it was very reassuring. I am sure none of my other doctors would ever touch the pills or take the kind of injections they prescribed me! It wasn't until after the 4th session that I noticed a change in my pain. When I was once unable to walk around a store to buy groceries, I was buying food for myself, I was out on my land, pulling up 6ft+ plants and working on my truck again, up and down on my knees for short periods. I still didn't have the stamina I needed to keep this up, but this was obvious evidence of an improvement. It was after my 9th treatment that I started to see great strides in my recovery, every week I was improving little by little. By the 11th treatment I was finally able to move on from just prolotherapy to strength training and massage therapy, and I continue to improve through those two modalities. I still have a long road ahead, but thanks to Dr. Parikh and his treatments I feel confident that I will only have a short time left of dealing with my current level of pain - no longer does it feel like it will "last forever". Also, if my pain ever gets bad again, I am going straight back to Dr. Parikh. No other doctor I have been to has ever shown as much consideration for their patients well being as he has. If you hurt and are getting no answers, consider seeing Dr. Parikh.

I have always had an active lifestyle. At age 42, I developed pain in the lumbar & sacrum regions…read more The pain worsened over the next year to where my lifestyle changed. I could no longer exercise or perform household tasks. I went to an ortho surgeon, who prescribed 18 PT sessions to strengthen my back/abdomen. The PT released me from therapy because I did not have a lack of strength in my back/abdomen and that my pain must come from elsewhere. So, I went to see a chiropractor and after adjustments, he told me a story. His wife had suffered from chronic back pain. As a doctor himself, he had done research and came across a pain management doctor in the area. He sent his wife to that doctor and after several treatments, she was pain free and had remained pain free to that date. That is how I came to meet Dr. Munir. I made an appointment at Southwest Ohio Pain Institute (SWOPI) and by this time, I was waking up around 3:00 AM in such pain that I could not fall back asleep. I had sleep deprivation and passed out during my first appointment. His staff was excellent and I felt like I was in the right place. This doctor was going to help me. Dr. Munir completed a physical exam and asked questions to understand what triggers the onset of my pain. After a series of evaluations, he informed me that he did not believe it was an issue with my spine, but rather an issue with muscle spasms pulling at my spine, resulting in both muscle & structural pain. Dr. Munir outlined a program, which included steroid shots, a low dose muscle relaxer and a series of stretches to be performed multiple times a day that would target underlying muscles not often reached through traditional stretching. After a few days of following his program, I experienced my first good night of sleep in close to a year. After about a month, I was experiencing about 50% relief, but I wanted to shoot for the stars and get back to my active lifestyle. Dr. Munir suggested adding red light therapy to my program. His studies had shown that when used in conjunction with steroid injections, the red light therapy (performed twice a week for 8 weeks) would add additional pain relief. And he was right, it did. Not 100%, but by that point my pain relief was about 85%. It was well worth the time and the investment. Again, not one to give up or settle for anything less than 100%, I tasked him with finding that additional 15% of pain relief that would allow me to sleep each and every night, perform household tasks and get back to exercising. Dr. Munir suggested radio frequency ablation (RFA) and thus we started on the evaluation process to determine where most of the pain stemmed from. We decided to treat my left side first - it was a rather simple 20 minute procedure, local anesthesia, performed in the office. I walked out and soon realized that my pain was gone. It was 100% gone on my left side with about a 95% improvement on my right side as well! I could immediately tell the difference in muscle tightness from my left side to my right side. I came back in a month to see Dr. Munir for treatment on my right side. By then my life had changed dramatically. I had been going to the gym, I had started running again and lifting weights. I was sleeping through the night - every night - and feeling rested in the morning. My physical state had improved and so had my emotional state. I was ecstatic with the results! I couldn't believe that I'd spent a year seeing different doctors (by the way, I also saw a neurologist, a rheumatologist and got a second opinion with another orthopedic surgeon) and Dr. Munir was only 5-minutes from my house. It has been several months now and I am 100% pain free. I am also free to pursue the things in life that bring me joy. Thank you, Dr. Munir, for taking the time to ask me thorough questions and for spending the time to properly evaluate my physical issues and for developing a treatment program that was unique to me. Thank you for sticking with me and for not brushing me off because there wasn't a glaringly obvious reason for the pain.
