As a Realtor and Broker in the Raleigh Cary area for the past 10 years I've "been around the block" a few times when it comes to working with Closing Attorneys. When I have a home listed for sale the buyer (or buyer's agent) will choose the attorney they want to facilitate the transaction. When I'm working as a buyer's agent, and my buyer doesn't have a preferred attorney, I ALWAYS choose Donald Grimes as my recommended attorney.
The office staff's attention to detail is un-matched. So often real estate transactions are simply "processed"...a somewhat robotic and impersonal way of just getting the job done. At this office phone calls are always answered within a few rings, and emails are replied to promptly and professionally. Believe me this isn't the norm with other firms.
The biggest challenges I've seen in getting a transaction closed and recorded on time are related to the buyers, sellers, and Realtors getting the information to the attorney in a timely manner. So often things are left until the last minute...which creates a chain reaction resulting in delayed communications with the lender...which of course is the key player in how the transaction will be funded. Donald Grimes and his Team...especially Laura Grimes, the office manager, work tirelessly (often long after hours!) to anticipate things that may delay the closing, and based on their many years of experience they know what to look for...and ask for...to keep things moving forward. You simply will not find a more experienced, customer focused, and detail oriented real estate closing attorney, and staff. They are all about getting the job done, and protecting their clients, and closing the transaction on time...not about appearance or being flashy. That's probably why they've chosen to keep their modest/cozy Cary office location, rather than some high rise office space. It's a very comfortable office to visit, and it always puts my clients at ease at time when things can be a bit stressful while signing piles of legal documents. read more
