Visiting Portugal and wanted a good burger. Walked by this place it appeared to have nice ambiance and a line of people waiting outside, so I figured it was probably a decent place. It is advertised as a steak house, and steak houses usually know how to cook their meat.
I ordered the angus burger medium, the waiter even asked how I wanted it cooked. The burger arrived and it was a nasty looking gray color, the color of a burger that appeared to be steamed, rather than grilled. It was cooked was very week done. The bread appeared to be a two day old English muffin that was hard as a rock; they didn't even bother heat or grill the bun! Oh, and the bacon, oh the bacon, that was pretty much rare. Maybe they got the bacon and the burger mixed up! I wanted my burger medium and bacon crispy. The waiter never came by once to check to see how my meal was. I tried motioning him over numerous times, be he was clearly not paying attention. I finally got his attention almost 30 minutes later and he made up some crap about how medium is different in Portugal than other countries! Lmao. I worked in professionally kitchens for 15 years and the standards are the same across the board. Very bad service. Just because they are mostly serving tourists shouldn't equate to poor service and crappy food. read more
