She started a little later…read more(age 10) than some of her classmates, but Ms. Michaela was amazing about making her feel comfortable, part of the group, and, to help her enjoy her experience and grow as a dancer. All levels are encouraged, and it is clear that Ms. Michaela really loves her dancers and loves dancing! There was an incredibly impressive school-wide performance at the end of the year, with beautiful costumes, great music, moving (and often even funny!) ballet and modern dance performances. We're looking forward to continuing at Dance Arts Project, and highly recommend it to anyone interested in ballet - either beginners, intermediate, or advanced dancers will thrive in this inclusive environment.

No matter what they put on-it is absolutely worth seeing. Go once and you'll be hooked-it is Alameda's best kept entertainment secret. I have seen 5 shows here and every one was a stunner. Their current production is a puppet laden musical odyssey entitled "Ship of Fools, Act II-The Terrible Beast". I saw Act I here last summer and it was simply incredible. Seats are $15 (a total steal of a deal), there isn't a bad seat in the house, parking is free, and the people are uber cool and friendly. You absolutely can't go wrong. Highly recommended if you want to see something truly creative and captivating!

The Music Director Kevin warmly and patiently builds the student's musical understanding and performances. His contribution keeps musical standards high and performances enjoyable. The Business Director/Producer Rachel adds the no nonsense behind the scenes taking care of business ballast for all this creativity. We are grateful for her expertise to keep SingOut thriving. Originally named DLOC in 1959 when they formed a company performing Gilbert & Sullivan Light Operas. Eventually they changed the name to Diablo Theater Co. They had a youth program called STARS 2000, which continues to this day to operate. Diablo Theater Co. that use to produce large scale Musicals & Light Opera productions at the Lesher Center For The Arts in Walnut Creek, is no longer in business. STARS 2000 continues as their own company. There is no other youth program that is under the auspices of the Diablo Theater Co. and in fact their studios were sold and are under the ownership of Performing Arts Academy.
