The food was OK, but the service was really bad. The only night I went there, it was crowded but not full-house. There were multiple waiters, and the place was certainly not under-staffed, but I had to get their attention to have my order taken after waiting for a long time. It also took a really long time to get my food. Then, the same waiting routine for the bill... I started thinking "maybe I should just start walking out to get them run behind me" but then decided to show some decency by signaling that I was going to the cashier to pay for the check. Surprise! They only accept "effectivo" (cash), and that my credit card is "no good" for the payment. This is supposedly a big restaurant that is part of a big touristic resort hotel; it is not like I had gone to a street seller. The fact that hardly any staff spoke English is one thing, but no credit-card service is beyond inconvenient. If you want to run a big tourism-related business in this century, these are the two basic requirements one should be prepared for. It is like being a surgeon but not knowing the names of the body parts and not having a scalpel. And what a drama! Suddenly, the very-much-looked-for staff all gathered, trying to figure out how to get the mere ~100 pesos (for a lousy soup and orange juice). The price is certainly as pretentious as this big resort hotel. They asked me if I had a bank account at BBVA (a Mexican bank). Yeah, every tourist who comes to Mexico opens a bank account here and wanders around with hundreds of pesos cash. I told them I could get their "effectivo" from my hotel, and they finally let me go with one of their staff escorting me to my room. I only gave him the cost but not the "propina" (tip). They have the indecency to add 10% propina to your bill automatically. Obviously, I will not go there again. read more
