UPDATE 2: EXIT Just sent me a legal threat to take this review down saying it was libelous and…read moredefamatory, but failed to say which parts were. Apparently Exit would rather sue to shut people up than act ethically to earn respect and trust. I also learned that a third of this company's positive Google reviews are from current employee's pretending to be customers. UPDATE: After I left this review, Scott, the manager commented on below emailed me a cheap and petty one line insult. This is the kind of professionalism you can expect from scott grace and exit realty. I would never trust these people with my affairs ever again. I should have known better when I saw them advertising on the back of a bus for real estate agents with 'No experience Necessary'. The person that runs the office I dealt with comes across like a slick used car salesman who is only interested in getting paid. Make sure you do your research before contacting them. There are MANY horror stories online about this company. The agents will not keep appointments, they will forget to tell you about details you need and will just walk into your house unannounced whenever they feel like it, appointment or not. When an agent from the Dartmouth office missed an appointment by 5 hours and didn't tell us, they just used the code to unlock my door later on that evening and walked into my house while I was standing there in my underwear. When I reported this to their office manager, they dismissed it as a mistake and pretended like it was no big deal. This wasn't a new agent; they had been selling for ten years. When an agent from the Sackville office said they wanted to have an open house. I had to get out of my house for a day on a Saturday. The agent showed up unprepared, did nothing and then left after 45 minutes. Wasted my entire day and made no attempt to sell my house. This is not an anomaly, this is the way this company conducts itself. There is no discipline and there is certainly no ethics! The agent I dealt with was only recently licensed after being a massage therapist for many years. They complained about the paperwork and rarely submitted any document for signature that didn't have some kind of error on it. I made the mistake of allowing them to do my mortgage financing (Only found out afterwards this was unethical). They made up details because they were too lazy to get info or verify anything. They falsified credit details and then said "It doesn't really matter" when confronted about it. They reported details about my home and my car and my spouse to the mortgage company that were false simply because they couldn't be bothered to verify the details. Again, when confronted about it, the greasy used car manager that runs the place just said "Let me know if you have any proof" and "That's a mortgage issue, you're complaining to the wrong person". When my agent found out I was an IT Technician, they asked me how they could install secret recording software on someone else's phone without them knowing. I should have fired them right there but wasn't sure what to do at first. If you want the biggest purchase or sale of your life to be a huge messy hassle, think about doing business with this company, if you want an experienced professional who will look out for your best interests. I would go elsewhere in a hurry.

I used A La Carte to sell my home. They are a subsidiary of a full service brokerage called…read more"Innovative Realty", but this review is just for their independently named mere posting service. Basically they will get your house listed on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), Realtor.ca, and viewpoint.ca (a popular listing service in Nova Scotia) without you having to hire an agent, for a flat fee. It was roughly $500 to just do the listing with 6 pictures, and $800 bucks for the listing, a lawn sign (with your own phone number on it), and 16 pictures. To give you a sense of the savings, if I had hired an agent at the standard 2.5% on a $300,000 transaction, it would have cost me $7500 + HST. I spent $800 + GST and that's it, so $6700 more dollars in my pocket on the sale, and all I had to do was field a few calls, leave a lockbox on the doorknob, and sit there for a few open houses. (Wayyyyy less than $6700 worth of work by almost anyone's standards.) The customer service agent (Thelma?) was really helpful and responsive, she even gave out a little free advice from time to time. The lawn sign was of very high quality and probably worth it if you're in a high visibility spot (and it also makes you not look too amateurish). Whenever I requested changes (new photos, open house dates etc.) they happened quickly and efficiently. They also profile your home on their own website included in the price. It gives you a link to work with if you want to sell on social media or forward an email, but I doubt it gets much traffic in and of itself. If you want to sell your own place, and you're savvy enough that all you need is a professional looking sign and exposure on MLS/realtor.ca/viewpoint, in my research a-la-carte is best bang for your buck for a mere posting in Nova Scotia, and I had a very positive experience with them. P.S. If you're curious about using them, but think (like I did) that you can just use kijiji for free, we concurrently ran a kijiji ad, and A-La-Carte ran one for us too. I think in the 5 weeks it was listed I got maybe one email. Much to my surprise, kijiji seems kind of useless for this. It seems there's no way around having to spend some money to get on the MLS to be successful)
