We came here for the good reviews and strong social media presence this place had…read more We ordered the "Kasai" from the "Charolas" section of the menu because it appeared to be the best deal for the money sushi wise. If you did the math, it would be 5 pesos per individual sushi piece which is about 25 cents US. Wow! The Kasai roll included the "vegetariano" roll which had lettuce, mushrooms, avocado, carrots, cucumber, pepper and mayo. This roll was super fresh and tasted perfect with the wasambi. The "Veracruz" roll had ensalada de atun picosito y pepino, the "Kani fry Maki" included surimi empanizado relleno de queso filadefia y chipotle and the "Tabasco" which was kind of like a dessert roll which had pineapple, Philadelphia cream cheese and banana. I personally prefer the vegetariano and Veracruz roll since I am not as big a fan of cream cheese as most people are, although the quality for all of the sushi was very high and the rice was soft and sticky just how it should be. Adding plantains or bananas to the banana roll was a very unique experience you don't get in the US and we found that it is tastier than we realized. Yum! They said they ran out of the "Shake Kawa" roll on the platter and so told us to pick another roll in place of it that was at the same price point. We chose the Veracruz roll which was suggested by the waiter - and are really glad we did as this was a very unique type of role that we both really enjoyed. The waiter also spoke fluent English which made ordering easier. As many sushi places here, you do need to ask for the pickled ginger and wasabi, which they provided to us immediately once we asked for it. This place has a great deal for the sushi, the customer service is very attentive and the place is very clean and professional. You could tell the sushi chef takes his role very seriously and that the customer service care very much about the experience they provide. I also love that you can order Ramen - since that is not very common here - and the broth (the most important part) is so tasty we ordered it twice. The cheese stick they have here was probably the best cheese stick I ever had - I highly recommend asking for it. We would not hesitate coming back here again for the unique food and great deals!!

2 stars for bad customer service, bad value and poor representation of sushi and poke…read more After waiting several minutes at the front someone finally showed up to help us order. We were told that they ran out of the mango but said they were willing to swap in extra avocado for the tuna mango poke bowl. They also didn't have any pickled ginger either but it wasn't clear if it was because they ran out of it or if it was because they don't keep it stocked. They simply said "no tienes" after we already ordered. They did eventually give us wasabi though but only after we asked for it and only after the 5 minutes it took for them to leisurely find it. It would be better to tell customers beforehand that they don't have any pickled ginger instead of charging them first and informing them later. Our choices were also very limited here since they told us they didn't have many of the dishes on their menu. It was a good thing we asked for wasabi because that really helped give the food at least some flavor. The raw tuna and salmon didn't taste fresh and the meals came across as bland without the wasabi (coming from a person who thinks honeydew melon is very flavorful). Also my sushi roll was very heavy with the cream cheese and breading even though it said nothing on the menu about being fried. If you are familiar at all with sushi or poke whether is is American-style or Japanese-styke you will find yourself very disappointed with the poor representation of it here. It also took quite a bit longer than we expected for a sushi place, especially considering that there was no actual line. The customer service also didn't communicate effectively with us (despite the entire conversation being in Spanish) and they didn't work in a swift or polite manner but instead appeared annoyed they were working at all. Not sure if any of the other sushi places here are better but this turned me off from ordering sushi or poke here again.
