This charming little pizzeria is truly a hidden gem, an oasis of pasta and pizza that is not to be…read moremissed. Now, when I say little, pizza lovers, we are talking about for this 12 tables in total, so you really need to make reservations to this one. Yup, the Almere Haven locals love their pizza and love to savor every delicious mouthful of Pulcinella's pie.
I was visiting a friend who said that this tiny shop was amazing; otherwise, I might have just passed it by this one if she hadn't pointed out that it was one of the best restaurants in the village. Ok, I said, "Sold! Make reservations." It was a decision that a wonderful four cheese pizza to my universe. With a combination of gorgonzola, scamorza, mozzarella, and provolone, I was in cheese heaven, Yes, Jerry McGuire's girlfriend may have said that you had me at hello, but I say you had me at cheese, Pulcinella.
We also had an appetizer of prosciutto and melon which was quite good. It came out first and by the time we were done, our pizza arrived on time like a fine tuned pizza train. Yup, Yelpers, points for perfect timing. And as for the service, it was impeccable, with just the right amount of attention but not to the point of smothering us at every turn. The only issue I had was that Pulcinella's size can make for some tough acoustics, but this could be easily fixed with a little more background music. However, when it is all said and done, this intimate pizzeria is perfect for romance or friendship, but, whatever your reason, you will love the pizza.
