From going into multiple smaller pharmacies (probably 10+) and also comparing prices with Pharmacie du Forum Des Halles (much larger store with larger selection) and comparing with Pharmacie Monge Notre Dame, the prices were more or less the same between these 3 larger pharmacies (some products would be a few cents or a euro cheaper at one or the other for each pharmacy listed). The prices are definitely more expensive at the smaller pharmacies unless you find a special deal on a specific product. CityPharma sometimes has special deals for buying multiple products of a certain brand, but there were none when I went. If you want a more leisurely, spacious, and calm shopping experience, I would recommend going to Pharmacie du Forum Des Halles since there is way more space and employees to help you and prices are similar.

I went in hoping to coherently explain in my very mid French why a pharmacist at another pharmacy was only able to fill half of a prescription for my aunt (based on what that pharmacist had told me, in French, as I understood it). The look from the first of the two pharmacists at Place Rèpublique who helped us was that stereotypical French, chin down, eyebrows up, "Dear God, I have to deal with another tourist today?" face. But it only lasted a split second. She and her colleague looked at my aunt's paperwork, figured out the deal, and took care of us in short order. They answered all our questions, even the dumb ones (eg, "Are these mints Italian? Can you tell me what flavor they are? What does this [Italian word] mean?") I appreciated not only their help but also their patience.

They have seen me at my worst, with fluids running down my face, my nose stuffed up, fever aching in my head, with head lice, allergies, you name it. Their reassuring tones, helpful advice and professionalism are always the first steps on the road to relief. Unfortunately their selection of beauty stuff is pretty limited and they never do promos, so just come here for the important stuff and find a cheaper, larger parapharmacy someone else.
