I have always heard of Publix grocery stores, but never been to one until now since there aren't…read moreany on the West Coast that I know of. The store is located in a really nice area with other nearby shopping and conveniently located. When I entered the store I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well organized the place is. Product are mealy and clearly labeled. The staff are extremely helpful and go way above and beyond to help which is a great thing. The prices here are also phenomenal! The checkout lanes and self checkout were not crazy at all either. I will definitely shop here again with I am here the area.

In Durham, our go-to Harris Teeter is on the one on 54, but we happened to be on Ninth Street…read moreeating at Juju so we stopped by this location to pick up a couple groceries before heading home. Based on my single visit to this location, it seems bigger and a little bit nicer than the Harris Teeter we normally go to. It also seems better stocked. We picked up a 10-oz box of Fresh Express 50/50 Mix of spring mix and spinach ($4.99) and a 48-oz container of Harris-Teeter-cut watermelon chunks ($5.00). It rang up to $10.19 after tax and using my wife's Kroger Plus membership (VIC customer), she got double fuel points for the month. The store was clean and on a Wednesday evening around 7:30pm, most of the clientele appeared to be Duke students. Not surprising considering Duke East Campus is just two blocks away. This Harris Teeter has both a Starbucks and a pharmacy inside. This is Harris Teeter store #394 and you can find it at the Shops at Erwin Mill at the corner of Hillsborough Rd and 9th St in Old West Durham. This is a relatively busy area.

What I recommend: Avoid ordering cakes from this location…read more We ordered a sheet cake from the Harris Teeter bakery for a veterans dinner this past weekend to celebrate and honor those who served. Unfortunately, what we received was extremely disappointing. The cake was poorly decorated and looked like very little effort or care went into it. When we brought it up to the baker, she brushed us off and said we could request a refund if we wanted, but that she wouldn't do anything to fix it. The event was only two hours away, and thankfully, the amazing staff at the Whole Foods bakery stepped in and helped us get cakes for 67 people with just an hour's notice. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this Harris Teeter location for cakes, especially if you need something that looks even halfway presentable.

This store is around 40 minutes from my home so it is not the closest Walmart for me but I choose…read moreto come here because it's smaller and I can easily find most things that I need. Also, I love the Town of Stuart! Staff are friendly and helpful. The store always has plenty of shopping carts and it is clean. I really enjoy shopping in the Garden Center and Hardware/Home sections, too. This store has a lot of home repair and finishing items as there is not really a hardware store (Lowe's) in town. Holiday section is smaller than most but it still has plenty to choose from. There is a Pharmacy and Bakery in this store, too. This store may not have the exact brand you are looking for but there is always an Equate version. Definitely worth the drive because I never leave stressed out!

A few things about this store really stand out. It's in a small mountain town & is only big box…read morestore (besides a Tractor Supply, Lowes foods, CVS & Walgreens). The level of customer service really stands out both friendly & knowledgeable. Electronics gave me some great recommendations last time I asked about what type of glue would be best for computer which I took inside to show. She'd never seen that issue but determined it was not properly glued & knew that this location didn't carry Loctite glass glue but they did carry at Martinsville VA 24 miles & can also order online. Electronics also gave me good info about computers & printers. No matter what area of store I find they are very helpful & knowledgeable at this store. Also, there are really good markdowns on items at this location which I've found in freezer & other areas of store (usually not on the markdown rack) but other areas I've been able to fill my freezer for super cheap. One time for $32 & another for $74 (in a new & bigger frig). Was told that this store cycles through inventory more to find what's best selling since it's smaller not a Supercenter. No matter what day or time I've gone there parking lot can look full but is never overcrowded or backed up with lines. Both the dairy & freezer are in good working order which is a problem with Lowes food as I've found dairy items like cheese are not even cold & was told by employee due to where the heater is situated so even though it can register temperature the product isn't at temp. My neighbor which works there said freezer is also a problem. Walmart have never had any issues with dairy or freezer items. They are going through a remodel hiring some more people for remodel. Would be great if it was a supercenter or had even more items given this is only big box store for county.
