Evan was an absent attorney. I paid $7500.00 up front to have him represent my son through the…read morecourt of common pleas. He immediately proffered the case without ever meeting my son. I told Evan on numerous occasions my son wanted him to come to the prison to talk. Sometimes I was told he would go, and other times I was brushed off. He went twice during the sixteen months my son was incarcerated (by the way, my son wa sentenced to 11-1/2 to 23 months; you figure that one out). My son felt unprepared for what was coming every time he was taken to court. The height of Evan's laziness presented itself when my son was taken to court and offered a plea deal handed to him by a public defender's paralegal (I still have the copy to prove it). I immediately contacted Evan and was reassured the court made a mistake. It took me two days (because I was losing trust in him at this point) to track the public defender down and speak with her. She informed me the plea deal was a real offer, and she was appointed my son's case because Evan never filed an entry of appearance with the courts. Two days later Evan still had no clue what had happened. This is an ethics violation at the least and could have constituted legal malpractice had my son signed the deal. When I informed Evan, via voicemail, of his mistake he still hadn't realized he made one, and he didn't call me back. My husband called his office demanding a return call or a refund, and he had someone else from his office call me. He has never apologized to this day. My recommendation is to invest your money in a more attentive attorney. AND... when I left a 1 Star review on his Pottstown office, he called me and left a voicemail hoping to discuss it. Miraculously, he had 90 + positive reviews the following week!! I'm from Pottstown. This guy is not worth it!!
