This place broke my heart. I nanny a boy with autism, and they claimed to be able to work with him. He needs a lot of guidance, but that doesn't stop him from being active and being able to participate in many ways. I was shocked by the level of refusal to understand his needs or adjust lessons. I watched him literally wander by himself by the window for 20 minutes of a 30 minute lesson. When there are 3 instructors for 3 kids, one would think there could be a bit more attention for him. I am also a teacher and even if there isn't an instructor for every child, it is so easy to work and adjust lessons and to always help guide the students who need more help. The receptionist was also quite rude in how she spoke about him, saying 'we have kids that get distracted, but.....wow' in a very condescending tone. She also kept demanding that I put him in private lessons, because they didn't know what to do with him. I kept asking her to speak with the parents about the private lessons since it's not my decision, and told her to call the mother, since she complained that the father didn't answer his phone. I asked if she wanted the mother's number and in another rude tone she said 'I GUESS.' And then when they called her about these private lessons she wouldn't return their calls. I also tried to make suggestions on how to work with him, which fell on deaf ears, and not once was I asked how they could better help him. Totally uninterested. There were many times he was sitting by himself for 10-15 minutes of a 30 minute lesson where it was activities I knew he would have enjoyed, such as running with the stretchy rope. It's so easy to put the kids to work doing something and to take a moment to walk over to the child that is struggling. Telling him in one way over and over again isn't going to work, instead stop and then adjust and try a new way - teaching 101. I have seen enough discrimination of autism in my day to recognize it when I see it. I would highly suggest supporting an organization who hires teachers who care and people who are willing to help children of all shapes, sizes, colors, and understands they all have gifts of their own. read more
