We then sent a letter asking for our $4000 back cause our child is now 18 and we no longer need a lawyer. And no return letter from her. She is a horrible person.

I have since filed a Formal Ethical Complaint for Professional Misconduct with the state of Colorado. From the beginning, there was a consistent lack of clear communication, follow-through, and accountability. Important case updates were not shared with me in a timely manner, critical decisions were made without my input, she was untruthful regarding the opposing party's stance and promises regarding billing and case management were repeatedly broken. She admitted to making a grave error in improperly serving the opposing party, and therefore promised to not bill me any further after a specific date, also promised to not bill me anything if our case ended up in court, but then against her promise (made with my father in the room as well) depleted my entire trust on the day that she gave me my one and only invoice with itemized billing, even after I had asked for it numerous times without a response. Despite an in-person meeting to address serious concerns, the issues of her lack of communication, clarity and professional competency persisted. I was charged for work that resulted from the attorney's own mistakes and left in a far worse position, both legally and financially than when I first hired her. The opposing party and I did not have any issues and were working well together before Miss Grace made her errors, so in addition to financial and legal stress, I now have the stress of misrepresentation, making things extremely difficult for my situation when they did not have to be. Her husband is her "staff" and they are not on the same page. They will make excuses for not ever responding, then they will gaslight you when you bring it to their attention. The handling of my case created unnecessary conflict, delays, and avoidable expenses. When concerns were raised, instead of taking responsibility, Ms. Grace deflected blame and dismissed legitimate issues as I attempted to reach out for her to follow through on her agreement to not charge me further. She has since completely stopped responding to me, as I have continued to respectfully request a refund for the billing that she promised me she would not charge. If you value integrity, clear communication, your investments, your relationships, your time and ethical legal practices, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. My experience was regrettable, and I would not trust this firm with any future legal matters.
