BEWARE OF THIS SHOP! I wished I had read the previous reviews before patronizing this braid shop…read more Two weeks before getting my hair done at this shop, I stopped by to ask how much it would cost to do cornrows like the existing hair style I had at the time. She quoted me $150 which I was willing to pay. When I did go to get my hair done on a Sunday, the lady said I owed her $200 when she finished my hair. I was shocked! How are you going to go up in 2 weeks by 33 percent? And why was the cost not quoted before doing my hair? I did not want to argue with the lady so I gave her $180 and told her that I would never sat foot in this shop again. She got an extra $30 out of me but she lost a customer. The cornrows were not as nice as I have had done by other hair braider so that is another reason why I will not go back. There are too many African braid shops in Atlanta especially on Candler Road. I would say pass on this one!

I am writing this with a heavy heart and a great deal of shock. In only two short months, Tiffany…read moreParks, (Ms. Hair Is Me) caused traumatic, lasting damage that I never thought possible from a professional stylist. I came to her with healthy hair and clear instructions: my hair can only handle semi-permanent color (a rinse). Despite my explicit warnings via text and in person, she used permanent color on my hair anyway. The physical results have been devastating: I now have multiple bald spots on my head. The hair is see-through, weak, and broken off. The entire right side of my hair is gone. (Please see my attached before and after photos for proof of the damage.) What is most upsetting was the lack of transparency. It appears she knew exactly what happened while I was in her chair. Instead of being honest about the chemical breakage, she styled my hair in a way that hid the bald spots so I wouldn't discover the truth until I got home and looked closely. When I reached out to her about the hair loss, her only response was that she was "sorry for my disappointment." She offered no financial responsibility for the damage caused. If you value the health of your hair, be very cautious. My experience was that my instructions were ignored, mistakes were hidden, and there was zero accountability for the physical and emotional distress caused.
