The new DMV building now located at 518 Kingsley is absolutely amazing! You make an appointment, I needed a new drivers license, gather your documents, walk in and immediately get waited on by the receptionist, then your assigned to a station behind an authorized personnel only sign. Then when you arrive at your station, you are met by a friendly person who is there to assist you with your needs. This was one of the very best experiences I've ever had at a DMV! Complete with smiling faces and a great process to get you in and out quickly! read more

As far as DMVS GO.... They are great. Friendly, Fast and Patient people. Never an issue getting my tags or grand kids license.

The appointment was better than expected. The long wait times are over. No more taken the day, or even half the day just to go the DMV. I also was very pleased with the customer service. read more

They let my kid do her license renewal but then told me I had to go to a different DMV when we have the same address

Had a wonderful experience at the DMV this week. Been here before when there was Lots of waiting, but this time they've made some major changes: 1) county residents only, 2) appointments only for most transactions. This allowed us to be seen quickly & the process was very efficient. No lines - no waiting! All of the stations had already had plexiglass barriers, so they were ready to keep their staff safe! Kira Crehore is legitimately INCREDIBLE!!! I came into this location to get a number of things done but had (short-sightedly) only made an appointment for the DL window... after waiting a little while and being being called up to the window, Kira was there to help me. Long story short, she went well out of her way to help me quickly and efficiently get everything done that needed doing. She went the extra mile to make it a very pleasant experience for me too- I don't remember EVER hearing someone describe their DMV experience as pleasant! Lol but I'm betting anyone who had Kira as their point-of-contact that day had a similar experience. Thanks so so much for the help, Kira! read more

It's always a little nerve racking when you have to make a trip to the DMV. I happen to have had really good experiences at this location because the staff is friendly and helpful. The line usually goes pretty fast once you arrive and take a number so definitely have all of your paperwork ready. This last visit, I needed to register my new (to me) car under my name. If you are here to do this [as opposed to just transferring tags from another vehicle that's not in your name], it's going to cost you around $411 (what I paid) plus an amount based on the price you paid for the car. The nice lady who helped me first explained the fees very well and what I needed in order for my car to be legal and correctly registered. There was a little snafu with the title although it was clean, but I was told what to do so I could register my car properly. It was my first time... I was sent back through the line after I made some corrections and although it's way too long of a story to explain here, basically she saved me a lot of trouble and made the entire experience positive and efficient. And although I live in Jacksonville proper, I would much rather come to this location for things like car registration and drivers license renewal because it is just a pleasure to deal with the people who work here. Thank God for such a professional, personable and pleasant Clerk as Kira!! Our experience in working with this wonderful person was an unexpected, yet very much appreciated surprise. The DMV isn't considered one of those places you want to have to deal with, but after the smooth sailing appointment we had today, I have a newfound attitude about the DMV!! :0) Not only did Kira make my 76 year old father feel the least amount of stress with having to re-register his car (my mom, his wife of 51 years, died in February). Kira streamlined the process down to providing his signature where needed, gave him his tags and documentation in a 1,2,3 process. I was there with his two great-grand kids (ages 2 & 8 months) as moral support, if there were questions to answer that he may not have had the answers for. We were in and out within 25 minutes, leaving with exactly what we came to get! When you have considerate & caring people like Kira handling such at the DMV, you feel accomplished and grateful to have personnel like her to assist you...especially for the Seniors in our society! Everything went well, very fast and easy. The daughter scheduled her road test. We didn't have to wait, the dmv clerk was nice and friendly, the examiner seemed to be firm and strict, but in fact she was very calm and nice. By the way, she passed the test! read more

Nick loves his job and it shows. First thing in the morning we go in there to change our out of state licenses and his personality made our day. I was dreading going to the DMV to renew my license as the stereotype is LOOOONG waits and usually grumpy workers. I walked in at on Tuesday at 8:50am and was given a ticket and was told that it might take a while as Monday was Presidents Day and after holidays it gets busy. After checking my number on my ticket and hearing them call numbers every 2-3 minutes I knew I wouldn't be in long. After about 15-20 minutes I was already receiving service at a station. I was helped by Stewart, a friendly and detail oriented worker. He helped me ensure I had all of the correct information and even reminded me to update my voting address. All in all the service was great! 10/10 would recommend. read more
