A massive selection of inexpensive, high-quality cosmetics, health/wellness/beauty products. Also a great variety of brands - from more expensive (Essie, Loreal etc), to a generic DM brand that has copies of popular products at cheaper prices. Also a worth noting is a nice selection of organic goodies, snacks, and travel-size products.

Seriously, anything you want for the household is available here, and cheap. A small sampling of the things I buy here: cat litter, hand soap, body cream, shaving gel, laundry detergent, brotaufstrich, razors, eyeliner, the occasional cute headband... and so much more. My only regret? I wish there was a DM closer to my new flat. Although... that might very well be my downfall, so maybe I'm better off having to make a trek here or to Hermannplatz. The only complaint about this store is that there are sometimes far too many people and there's only one line open most of the time, but in spite of that, service is still generally friendly and fast.

There's a very poor selection of food and drink items, but as a drugstore, it's probably got what you need. However so do many other places that are less crowded, and less rude, and have a better selection.

For the longest time, I thought that the DM at Hermannplatz was the closest to where I live, and…read morebemoaned the 3.5 km journey. While that's not so bad a distance, riding by bike is always particularly awful when I need to stock up on cat litter (this is the only place I buy it) and taking the bus is uncertain, as the M29 is likely the most inconsistent line ever. Then I discovered DM in Friedrichshain. This one is only 2.5 km away, and served by direct U-Bahn and tram connections. So stoked! I don't know how I have seen the neighboring Kaiser's so clearly but overlooked this location... but no more. It is large and conveniently-located and easily accessible. For those reasons alone, this might be my new go-to location, at least on days and during times when there aren't so many tourists...
