I live in San Diego because I prefer to walk more than I drive. But one of the reasons I hate…read moredriving beyond environmental impact is the predatory energy around car maintenance. Especially as a woman I just know they're more likely to take advantage. I got my last oil change here six months ago. I set a challenge for myself to try to only use one tank of gas in six months. So obviously, I have not driven very often. But Google, ChatGPT, and the few men in my life told me that I needed to go get an oil change since it had been 6 months. So I went back to oil changers. To my absolute delight they showed me oil that looked freshly changed. No need to change what's already good. They gave me all the tips I need to know for when I need to actually come back and what I can be doing to maintain my car in the meantime. It would have been so easy for them to just take my money and lie to me. It would have been just a normal errand I'd forget about in a few days. But now I will refer everybody to this location because I am so thrilled with that experience on top of already having a positive experience when I DID need an oil change last time. You don't really expect too much from these limited service shops. But the energy here is good. The people here seem to work well together and after today I will continue to come here as long as I live in San Diego.

Brought my Jeep Wrangler back to Life!…read more I feel safe driving my 2007 Jeep again, it even drives noticeably better! After leaving me stranded, Meineke found out it was just a broken transmission cable and repair was ~$600. Not accusing my old mechanic for the broken cable, the Jeep is from 2007 after all, but he told me it wasn't worth fixing and offered me $2K for it. Thank goodness my boss, a VP, recommended I towed it to Meineke in PB! Not only they did the repair but took the time to ask me what my goal was for the Jeep, keep or sell, and gave me confidence keeping it. It has a few leaks but it's in good shape for my commute and some camping trips out in Anza. Although they were closing on a Friday, they even took the time to teach me, LIKE A FAMILY MEMBER, how to keep an eye on the coolant and oil to make notes on the leaks to go over on our next oil change. Thank you Meineke Team!

The owner was kind and helpful. He told me exactly what I needed and was straight and to the point. He was also very knowledgeable and I can tell he has some real experience. I also wasn't charged for fluids and the diagnostic tests, which was a kind gesture and helped a lot. Hopefully I won't need to see a mechanic anytime soon! But if I do I'm coming back here.

Kassandra was also very welcoming and thoughtful, she even recommended a small bakery nearby if I wanted a comfortable place to relax while waiting. As a woman, it can sometimes be difficult to find a mechanic you feel comfortable with and can trust not to take advantage of you. This was absolutely the best place to go,I felt respected, informed, and completely at ease throughout the whole process. Overall, an AMAZING experience. I truly appreciate the great customer service!

Are you going to warranty issues that arise to the switching to an oil that would void a mfg…read morewarranty? I bet not! Higher viscosity leads to higher pressures which lead to seals leaking and failing. I'm really surprised you haven't researched this. How about the leaking oil filter a day after install? Seems like a sure way to get more money outta a customer once their engine gets starved of oil. How about the sloppy work with oil left all over my car? Lack of care and integrity. How about the scratches from resting my tires on the paint of my car? Lazy and inconsiderate. Pulled from the article that copied and pasted "Engine Design Changes: Newer Toyota engines are designed with tighter tolerances and specific lubrication needs that necessitate these thinner oils, such as OW-16 or OW-8." Exactly my 2019 Lexus ux250 is a newer Toyota engine if you weren't aware , so why are changing it?
