When it was determined that they couldn't get the tire that I needed to match the one that was just put on in the Bay Area, John called around Sacramento for me ( I didn't ask him to do that!) and found a shop that could get my tire and install it that same day. My AC decided to quit during our last heat wave, so I took the car to Dennis. AC works like it used to and my wallet took a smaller hit than I anticipated. While I was there, I observed their handling of another problem car. They found the problem and corrected it at minimal cost to the customer, unlike other shops I have dealt with in the past. Jason was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions and gave me a very reasonable quote for a set of brand new tires. Said they would be there the next day, they ended up taking a couple days longer than he said, which wasn't a big deal but he upgraded my tires for free because of the extra wait. He called me every day with an update until the tires were ready and was very transparent about everything. The installation took about 30 minutes. The whole process was easy, painless and way less expensive than I had planned. Couldn't recommend them more! read more

To the person who had a bad experience where his "parts were stolen": Around the time you are saying you had parts stolen off your car, you might want to double check who you're blaming for stealing parts, as there was a couple robberies around that area around that time, like 4 -5 months ago, a bad rash of them. Went with my son on a Saturday with the truck j has just given him . Dennis and his son were packing up for the weekend when he came right out to look at our vehicle He tested the battery and determined it needed a new alternator immediately he gave us a great price states work right away In the process he discovered the belt tensioner for the bent was bad had one delivered at cost with 1/2 hour whole process took 1 1/2 hours and very reasonable he even sold us parts at cost Finally a truly honest mechanic I highly recommend this company Thanks guys you rock!!! I love coming here. The first time was a few months ago when I was borrowing my dad's truck, I popped a tire while on the road. Jason was super helpful and gave me a really good deal on a used tire. Since I had such a great experience that time, I went back when I was having problems with my personal car. The check engine light was on so they did the system check for me for free and while they couldn't find anything wrong, they told me to come back if it turned back on. So far so good. This is our go to for tires. Anytime we have a leak or a flat, we make the drive to DJs. The place looks like a dump, but it's a diamond in the rough if you know what I'm saying. I have been coming here for what must be close to 20 years. The father always took good care of me and his son Jason does the same and takes time to have a conversation with you no matter how busy they are. DJ's is a family owned business that has always given me a good deal with a friendly demeanor, Regardless if I am wearing a collared shirt and slacks in my Cadillac or grubby jeans and a hoodie with my old van, they treat me the same way and prices remain the same. Prices are very good for used tires and excellent for a flat fix and the wait time is usually minimal. The shop looks much better now that they have painted the front also. The prices at Bob's down the street are higher and they treat you more like a generic customer...I try to come to DJ's first when I have an issue. These guys won't steer you wrong. I like to come here because its never busy. The place is a shithole, but if you need a flat fixed real quick, or a tire balanced or something easy you will be in and out fast. I have to be fair and start off by saying I got a really good deal on a complete set of used tires but was told they would be good for two or three years. Three months later I have rubber chunks of tread flying off one of them. Three star rating for now because of good service and a fair price. I was referred to DJ's when I found out my tire had a leak. When I called, Jason was very nice and said I can bring it right in. He looked at it right away, and discovered the valve was messed up. I was right there the entire time, as he explained everything, and proceeded to fix it. He fixed it, put air in the tires, checked my brakes pads, and I was all set. He also quoted me lower prices than some other shops did on future repairs I asked about. If you want someone who's trustworthy, nice, and not careless like some other places are, I highly recommend them. read more

Crooks! Never fixed the problem I brought my car in for, stole parts off my car and tried to get away with double charging me. I took my car somewhere else and had to pay $370.00 to have it fixed and replace stolen parts. Should have gone with my gut when I called this place and I walked thru the door. I needed new tires in an odd size for my vehicle. Odd size = expensive. The big tire companies quoted me around $800-$1050 for 60k warranty tires. DJs and one other local small business came in below $700. Consumer reports, and more importantly, my dad said the Yokohama's from DJs were the best value and quality, so I went with them. I paid over the phone Tuesday afternoon and they had them in Wednesday morning. The gentlemen who work there are very friendly and efficient. I read previous reviews that said the shop was messy, but I thought it looked fine from the outside, the actual work area looked organized, and I wasn't concerned about the cobwebs by the front counter. These guys work on cars, not cleaning houses. I'm really happy with the great deal they gave me on a good set of tires. read more

I had no tread on my tire and a nail sticking out ,and needed a quick fix. The guy here stayed overtime just to help me out. Also i didn't wait in a waiting room i sat and talked to him as he was doing my tires, made the time more enjoyable. Place is really messy but had character and i liked the mess.
