This is not a a luxury resort in any sense of the word. Missing details abound, from hooks in the bathroom,to one key given for multiples guests, small tv not to scale for the space, broken umbrella at the pool, sticky carpet, housekeeping upon request and no parking. Jenn at the front desk was as pleasant as could be expected-not her fault the hotel isn't to par. We found, for the money, this place was a big, fat barely ok.

My family was on vacation in Okoboji and decided renting a boat wasn't in the cards for us this trip-- but taking an excursion on the Queen II definitely was. Boy, am I glad we did! The open-air upper deck was just what we needed (the lower deck is inclosed). Pricing may be a bit steep? But it is no fuss, clean, has a good offering of refreshments, open to all ages, and it is actually quite fun to hear about the different parts of the lake via the narrative throughout. The Queen II was recently (last year or so) repaired/refreshed and it definitely shows. Overall, I'd do the Queen II again (even though I have frequented the lake decades of my life). And if you're new to the area, I definitely recommend you do so as well!

The structure of the place has me questioning build quality because you could feel the entire floor shake with people moving around upstairs - or so it seems. The room was clean - but I was surprised to find the smoke alarm was removed. Wishful thinking: Hotels should start using larger TVs. I mean, this TV is a 720p LG from like, 2005. There is free wifi. Cool. The shower was fine, however the body wash and conditioner were empty. The breakfast was your typical Super8, or HolidayInn and they have a waffle maker! That made me feel better. Overall, 3 stars. Maybe another room is better.

Customer service was great, quick check in and out, and even offered suggestions on activities while I was there for the night. While I know there were other people in the hotel, I could not tell from the noise, it was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Only slight negative, no elevator for 2nd floor so make sure if you have trouble with stairs to get a 1st floor room. Included hot breakfast was MUCH more than expected and well done. Free Wi-Fi.
