Super friendly staff and cute as can be decor. Our burger was tasty, as well as the fries. Our chocolate shakes were a bit of a disappointment - very little chocolate flavor and more milk than shake. We also weren't prepared for a 40-min wait for our to-go order, along with one of our missing elements (didn't discover until we were down the road eating at a picnic stop).

Absolutely love this hidden gem! Located behind a gas station, this secret spot cranks out some amazing home style dishes!! First off, you get a warm welcome from staff. Lovin the 50s diner theme, lots of work put in gathering the Coke & 50s memorabilia! The Skillets are amazing, great pepper sausage in the gravey, fluffy biscuits! The pancakes are a sweet delight! The BBQ sandwich is out of this world, they smoke their own meats, such an amazing flavor!! Their sweet tea is spot on! I live in Nash, I drive out of my way to stop by where when in the area!

Best breakfast in Monteagle-we tried them all! Good sausage gravy and biscuits and omelettes and fun diner atmosphere!

Stopped here on the way north (exit 135 off I-24, back from the road behind the gas station). Our high-energy server/manager Beth and was very customer focused. Hubby had the bacon cheese burger, I had the smothered chicken minus onions and both were quite tasty, along with the fries and coleslaw. The decor is classic 50's diner and for those of you who don't visit the ladies room, photos included. Would definitely stop here again.

    Cutest little area to sit.

Found this place hidden behind a truck stop, and so glad we stopped in! Super friendly staff and good service. Food was tasty. The atmosphere is great, absolutely loved the 50's diner decor. Will be back when we are in the area.

Simply amazing! This place has great atmosphere and great food. The retro decor is done really well with lots of attention to detail. Super clean and great service.

Cute little diner. Food was delicious and service with a smile. So glad we checked it out.

Got a breakfast and it was awesome ! Everything was cooked perfect which I find to be rare... You get 4 slices of bacon and they were very good! The waitress was very friendly and did a good job! Breakfast is only served until 11am.

Where do I start? Hometown diner feel and great breakfast! We stopped for gas on our way to Gatlinburg and I saw this little hole in the wall that just looked like a small truck stop diner, but it was much more than that! The service was fantastic and fast! Our server was friendly and attentive. I got the Mountain Man Skillet, my boyfriend ordered the Country Skillet. The pictures attached do not do any justice, but both are a must try! Home cooked taste and very filling! The next time we head south, we will be stopping back in!

The restaurant is located behind the namesake lodge and has ample parking. They had a nice fireplace going on outside due to chilly weather. Inside was a super cozy southern vibe kind of a place. There were a lot of music memorabilia on the walls. The live music was really good. Randy Finchum kicked off the music and played original and sometimes hilarious songs. He made sure to crack a lot of jokes and stories between the songs. For food we tried fried pickles, fried okra, fried brussels sprouts, and sausage with onions and peppers. Yep...no sight of greens but man was everything delicious. Also, they have cheap beers available but only in bottles. If you're in the mood for some good southern food with a cozy funky vibe then checkout Smoke House.

The breading ratio was awesome, thin enough to not overwhelm and make it too thick and dense. Came out steaming hot so clearly made fresh. Decor inside was adorable. Had a stage for live music in the evenings. Really kind staff. I'd made it a point to stop again if I ever find myself in that neighborhood again.

Unfortunately it was not the same caliber as our initial visit. Wife liked her dirty martini ok. My sazerac was too sweet and a bit hard to get through. The by the glass wine was a small and not particularly interesting selection. Fried lobster appetizer really had a much too heavy coating that overwhelmed the delicate lobster flavor. Still hard to pass on a fried lobster app though. The steaks didn't have that great grill flavor we remembered. My thin cut ribeye was overcooked as well. Though my side of fries were fabulous and the clear highlight of the evening. helpful hint - ask for no truffle oil; nasty stuff, I still can't understand why if shows up on so many menus. The worst part of the evening, and probably the thing that most made us think no on another return visit, was the party upstairs. It involved a lot of very young, very loud, screaming children. I have no doubt that it was a family gathering, but it struck any pleasure from dining in a cool historical space. Gave my wife a headache, and made us bolt to the safe quiet of our car as quickly as possible after the main course was finished.

We started w Nola shrimp - Cajun flavor was great, buttery, goodness. They brought out complimentary bread and shared the specials of the night with us. The roll and butter were warm and delicious. I ordered the halibut entree special - comes w soup or salad and sides. A lot of food and everything was cooked perfectly. The risotto was a little under but the flavor was exceptional. My husband ordered the ribeye, cooked perfectly to his liking and the garlic butter gives it so much flavor, also comes with soup/salad and side. You really get attentive staff, basically a 4 course meal, and a really special evening. We enjoyed ourselves!!

The space is attractive, though it's far from being any sort of "tavern". It's rather loud, industrial. The worst aspect of the space are the tables for 2, which are small cocktail tables, really sized to hold a couple drinks, not dinner for 2. One is left with the impression that they're more interested in fitting as many diners as possible into the space rather than providing a fine dining experience. So much so that the wait staff apologized for the table size several times. Menu varies with the season, though we found most items on the online "sample" menu were on the dinner menu that night as well. Roasted oysters were plated very attractively, the oysters were plump, and the topping tasty, though several of mine were refrigerator cold - clearly made in advance and not properly heated for serving. Starter of sourdough bread with chili oil. The bread was wonderfully rustic, the chili oil was actually garlic oil. For my main, I had the "signature" trout. Pleasant enough, a nicely cooked filet swimming in a brothy sauce. Accompanied by a few small rounds of potato, what amounted to a single thinly sliced fingerling, I left hungry and considered stopping for a burger on the way home. The wife was underwhelmed with the duck. Kudos for providing an upscale dinner destination in Sewanee. Though not an option that we'd consider revisiting.
