Muy buen lugar para probar unos budines esponjosos, muy ricos! Esta oportunidad, probé el de limón, buenísimo. Very good place to try some spongy puddings, very tasty! This time, I tried the lemon one, loved it. read more

Persicco consistently makes lists summarizing the best helado in Buenos Aires. This sleek chain is…read morepart of the Freddo/Un Alta Volta family (each of these businesses having had the same principals, not necessarily at the same time). That being the case, I wasn't very impressed by the classic dulce de leche flavor. It was rich and sweet, a little too soft, but mostly just didn't have enough dulce de leche smokiness. Some of their other flavors were excellent. Try the Tramontana - with streaks of dulce de leche in a vanilla base, and chocolate-covered biscuit balls the size of almonds scattered throughout. I rarely go for fruity flavors, but the Merengatta was also terrific, extremely creamy (could it be mascarpone-based?) and swirled with fresh, bright-tasting strawberry. The doorknob to the ground floor restroom had broken off, so I felt like I was going to fall to my death when going up the spiral staircase to the other restrooms. Shoddy construction aside, the space is very bright and clean. Worth a visit? It shouldn't be first on your helado tour - especially considering that they're noticeably more expensive than other heladerias. But if you come across a Persicco branch while walking the city (and you probably will), definitely go in and try some of their signature flavors.

Someone gifted us with assortment of cookies from this bakery in Buenos Aires. All were delicious. My favorite was a cookie topped with raspberry jam, an almond and icing. It was better than an orgasm...ok maybe not better but pretty darn close. These cookies were bite size but each had its own distinct and delicious flavor. If ever I make it to Buenos Aires I will definitely look this bakery up and spend the entire day sampling all their little bits of heaven. So `Ono!

Service: I was looking for alfajores to bring back to the states. An older woman seemed annoyed with me and was not friendly during our interaction. Cost: She shouted a price to an older man who rang me up. I didn't pay much attention to the price until I saw the charge on my credit card. It was $27 for 4 alfajores. This is way above an average cost so I feel they took advantage of a tourist who is not fluent in Spanish. Taste: I had one and had given the others to friends. No one enjoyed them. All they did was crumble with each bite and make a mess. Do not visit this place as you will get ripped off, have poor service and not receive a tasty treat.
