U-haul rental- (Innovation/Technology Drive in Temecula- This is my first time writing about good or bad service. I am moving and my husband told me to reserve a truck at U-haul. Because this location opened at 8 a.m., I chose it to rent a truck. I got there at 7:55 and there was one gentleman there in front of me. The girl behind the desk, very young, was extremely slow and didn't seemed trained very well. Not once did she say, "I will be right with you". A man walked in about 8:10 a.m. He went into an office. I assumed he was the boss or the owner. I heard him tapping around on the computer and making a phone call, in which he walked right past me, in which I need to move for him to get outside to make the call. On the phone, he said in a creepy voice, "Just giving you a wake up call". It was annoying that I am waiting and one, he doesn't acknowledge I am standing there, two, he doesn't say, "She will be right with you, or Can I help you". He did have time to make a personal call though. When the man in front of me had problems with the trailer he was renting (in which this young girl had to go outside to hook up for him, while the owner sat on his a... and had a customer waiting in line), the girl came back in to tell Art, the owner, that the man complained that the right brake light wasn't working and something else. Art asked the girl why, like she is some kind of mechanic at 20 years old (guessing age). He told her to call someone and tell them. This man was going to have to go to another location for help. This is where I went into his office and asked him if he was the owner. I told him, "Why don't you help this man and make the necessary phone calls, while she helps me". He was dumbfounded and without words. I told him that I expected a little more customer service than I was getting. He said that he thought that I was with the man. First of all, I didn't look like I was with him. We never said two words to each other and I was standing behind him. I also didn't follow him outside to get the trailer. I said to him, "Neither one of you asked". It was like I was invisible. He started to get very defensive and rude, and I told him that he was making it worse. I said to him, "I have never blogged before, but I would definitely be making an comment on Yelp. He said to the girl, "What is her reservation?" He went outside and started to help the man without a word to me. He then yelled at her from outside, "Move her reservation". I asked her if that meant "cancelled", and she said yes. I asked for his name. She hesitantly said Art, but wouldn't tell me his last name. I walked out calmly and called to get another reservation somewhere else. This was the last thing I needed when moving and have to work tomorrow. My advice: If you are in Temecula, only go to a specific U-haul rental place. The one on Jefferson on Ivy in Murrieta was amazing. I was in at 9:00 and out by 9:20 a.m. Angel, the man who helped me, was incredible. He was sweet and friendly, very competent, and made my day much brighter. He ran to the U-haul, was very clear on instructions, and I felt very cared for. Thank you Angel for all of your help. It restored my faith in U-haul as a business. Art, the owner of Divine Tint, (who also rents U-hauls...which should have been my first red flag), should not be doing business for U-haul or representing them. U-haul needs to look at independent renters that represent their company. If I wouldn't have had a great experience, I would have NEVER gone back to U-haul. I would have used a different company like Budget. read more
