This was my first time with boat entry, open water warm dives, and I had the best time! The entire experience was great. Service: As this was part of a solo travel for me, I was in communication with the dive shop via WhatsApp to make sure that I was fully prepared. I felt very comfortable the entire time, and everything was explained clearly. All materials and great were prepped and ready for me upon arrival, and all staff members that I was interacting with were kind and welcoming. Experience: We did two dives, and had some discussion on the boat as to what we most wanted to see, to help determine the locations that we would travel to. We settled on Palancar Bricks for the first dive, and La Francesa for the second. There were 7 divers with 3 dive masters, so despite being a solo traveler, I felt like I had a ton of support. The overview of the dive sites before entry was great, because it primed me for some of the aquatic life that we would see. As my first warm water and coral reef dive, I can say that scuba diving is one of the great privileges of my life--I was overcome with emotion at seeing so much! Schools of small (young) fishes, corals, large organisms, sponges, nurse sharks, barracuda, a seahorse, a cozumel toad fish, giant parrot fish, and so many more! Special thanks to Captain Mono, Jorge, Juan, and Javi who led our trip. If I ever have the fortune of returning to Cozumel, I will absolutely return for more trips!

The guides were incredible, and diver to dive master ratio was 2.5 to 1, and best of all, they had parkas on board to keep us all warm. This was one of the nicest dive shops based on service, limiting the group to a small size, and the extra things they did for comfort. I highly recommend Scuba Life Cozumel - 10/10!

We happen to be at the close report, but didn't realize it because we didn't bother googling directions. They were literally like four blocks from the ship port for Norwegian, but there is another port further down. That might be a 10 minute drive. They're located right downtown near a lot of coffee, shops, and restaurants. Great walking.

We had a great dive with Aldora Divers. The y picked us up by boat at our hotel. They were on time,…read morehelpful and accommodating. Our group had several different diving levels from very experienced, nervous and 2 checkout divers. They fully accommodated our needs and took us on 2 amazing dives. They also brought us to a nice rest area in about 3 feet of water where we could paddle around and eat fruit and cookies and watch the sting rays. Our equipment was new and in good condition. We used steel tanks which was a new experience and they talked us through using it..The staff was knowledgeable and fun. Can't ask for more.

We just had a FANTASTIC week diving with Aldora! Where do I start?…read more Upon arriving in Cozumel, we walked to Aldora with our gear. We were each given a wet bag to keep anything we wanted them to set take to the boat each day, and clean afterwards. Each bag was tagged with your name. They were VERY well organized from the get go. We were picked up for the dives right across from our hotel (we chose a well rated hotel that happens to be across the street from Aldora's dock). Our BCDs and regs were always set up for us, with our wet bags in our respective cubbies with the rest of the gear we had left for them (fins, masks, etc). The boats are small and fast, which means quicker boat rides out to the dive sites, and small groups of divers per guide (max 6 divers per guide, but often less). The dives are LONG! Between the nitrox and large steel tanks, Aldora ensures that you can get maximum bottom time. Our only dives shorter than an hour were the "adventure" dives, as they were deeper, but all standard dives were 65+ minutes, with our longest at 86 min. There were always yummy boat snacks, typically fresh cut fruit and often a cookie or muffin. On the 1st dive of the adventure dive, we hunted lion fish and the captain made a DELICIOUS lion fish ceviche while we were on the 2nd dive. We thoroughly enjoyed the ceviche and a homemade guacamole during the 2nd surface interval. The guides were mainly fantastic. Our favorites were Arturo, Roberto, and Bernedice. They really went above and beyond, had great dive briefings, pointed out lots of neat sea critters, and were overall just good people. If you decide to change your dive itinerary, you can just text them through WhatsApp and they are very responsive and are accommodating. The dives are a little pricier than some other companies, but you're getting full service, and much longer dives than you'd get elsewhere. Great value for the slight increase in price. HIGHLY recommend, and will definitely be diving with Aldora again next time I'm in Cozumel!

Francesco spoke very fast with a strong accent and said upfront that raising hands for questions is not acceptable to him during his training. All four of us struggled to understand him. The first dive was solid, but the second was just average - and we would have much preferred staying on the same reef rather than moving. More concerning were the safety and experience issues. During one dive, Francesco knocked my beginner son's mask off with his fin at around 35 feet. Our son managed to recover on his own (thxs to training from the guide and Dad), but it was a stressful and avoidable situation - especially for a newer diver and experienced guide. We also brought a GoPro to capture the experience, but were told we couldn't use it ourselves. We were told they would handle it and supplement with their phones, yet we ended up with zero photos or videos from either dive. That's probably the most disappointing part - no memories to take with us other than what we can recall ourselves. Overall, not a terrible dive, but far from the experience we expected. The combination of safety concerns and lack of follow-through left us very disappointed.

Freddy and his captain came to pick us up at the hotel pier on time, and walked us through the sites we were going to dive. Unfortunately, we didn't get to dive at sites that I wanted given the time that we have, but it was still an amazing experience nonetheless. I highly recommend getting a private charter with Salty Endeavors, and will definitely come back to them for a longer dive!

BLUF: friendly people, but quality and maintenance of rental equipment concerns me…read more Dove about 10 dives with them. First, the good. The crew and shore staff are generally very friendly. They offer fresh fruit between dives, which is awesome. They also have a cold-water cooler on board. Most of the divemasters are very good and conscientious. There was a roll call after every dive, and they had emergency equipment on board. The bad: only one small bucket to rinse masks, and it got pretty grungy by the end of the trip. Like soaking your mask in soup. One divemaster seemed like he wanted to be anyplace other than there. And only one out of the 4 we had really checked air status with all divers during the dive. My biggest concern is the gear. I personally had a leaky o-ring three times in as many days. I also had a depth gauge that didn't work, a reg set that had a lot of breathing resistance, and a leaky first stage. One of our divers ran out of air at 40 feet when his gauge read 1100 lbs of air. He had to make an emergency ascent. When he did so, the divemaster swam up to him and pulled him down by his fin, I guess because he thought there was something he could remedy, but not exactly what my friend needed at that point. I would use them again for service, but I would NOT use rental gear.

( I was a Dive Master and am now an instructor). I also did one night dive. Generally we had one to 3 other couples; we signed up for the fast boat and I recommend you do too. Besides being smaller, it can to do sites the larger slower boat cannot get to. Be aware that you have to carry your own gear to/from the board and rinse it yourself. The storage lockers a small and do not allow for hanging up your gear over night. We'd had up our gear outside and then around 5 or 6 pm put it safely away in our locker.
